This two-bedroom apartment is located on the top floor of a building in the historic center of Spilamberto, a small town between Modena and Bologna in the Emilia Romagna region of Italy. The town is located about 5 kilometers from the Modena Sud exit of the A1 Autostrada and is about a 30-minute drive from the Bologna International Airport (BLQ). This location offers the charm and convenience of being in the center of a small town, yet is centrally located in the region.
Spilamberto has a lively, well preserved historic center with stone streets, covered walkways, an ancient clock tower and fortress. Shops, restaurants, cafes, banks, bakeries, markets and a pharmacy are all conveniently located in town, within easy walking distance of the apartment. There is a weekly market on Wednesday mornings and numerous festivals throughout the year.
There is free parking in various streets of the center with no permit required. Although a car is recommended for getting around the region, there are buses to Modena and other cities and towns from Spilamberto. The closest train stations are Castelfranco Emilia and Bazzano, but the Bologna and Modena stations are better served.
The apartment, which measures about 80 square meters, is bright, fully furnished and has everything necessary for a comfortable stay. There are white walls and characteristic flooring throughout the apartment. It has an open living room with a kitchen, a balcony, two bedrooms and a spacious bathroom. The living room has two sets of French-doors that open to the balcony, which overlooks the square and La Rocca Rangoni, an ancient fortress. One of the bedrooms has a queen bed, while the other has two twin beds. The spacious bathroom has a large shower.

Summary: The property is located in the middle of Spilamberto, a classic small Renaissance village. The apartment was very well furnished with a recently remodeled kitchen. Sandro, the owner was a gracious host who notified us in advance of the festival which took place while we were there. The balsamic museum and surrounding balsamic artisans were worth the visit. We used the apartment as a central from which to explore most of the Emilio- Romagno, we visited all of the major cities from Parma to Ravenna, its proximity to the autostrada made this possible. Summary: Excellent, quiet location in the pretty historic centre of Spilamberto. The apartment is modern and comfortable (though for those less mobile there are lots of stairs to climb, and no lift). Sitting out on the balcony and looking over the square to the old castle is a joy. You cannot park outside the building, but we had no problem parking just round the corner. Spilamberto is well placed for visiting several beautiful towns and cities around the region (eg Modena and Bologna). Sandro and his family are very good, and responsive, hosts. We would definitely recommend the accommodation and use it again ourselves.

Summary: It is a great place to visit the many cities in Emilia Romagna. The village offer a great variation of restaurants, shops, delicatessen and locals are extremely friendly. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Summary: We loved our stay at Sandro's apartment in Spilamberto. We chose this location because we wanted to be close to Modena, but outside of a big city. Spilamberto was a great location for us. They had some wonderful restaurants and the locals were so kind to our son everywhere we went. The apartment was great. Incredibly clean, lots of space, a beautiful terrace and a very well stocked kitchen. Sandro welcomed us with fresh strawberries and a bottle of Lambrusco and gave us some wonderful recommendations on what to do in the area (don't miss the Balsamic museum)! He recommended Osteria Degli Obici, which was one of our favorite meals in all of Italy. I would greatly recommend this as a place to stay!

Summary: Sandro's hospitality has no comparison! He made our stay incredibly pleasant. We felt right at home in this apartment. It's very comfortable close to great little places to eat and close to the airport. This city and apartment made us feel like locals visiting friends. Summary: We spent a very good week in this apartment in Spilamberto. The apartment fits perfectly for a family (be aware that there is no lift to get to the third floor, though). It is well located in the old town of the village that contains all that you need for food or drinks, and near a very nice park. Spilamberto is a good spot if you want to visit Parma, Bologna, Modena and the Ferrari museum.

Summary: My husband and I stayed in this apartment for almost a month and found it to be very comfortable, practical and well situated. Views of the historical center were beautiful and the people in town were kind. But more importantly, the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom were well stocked with every convenience you could need and the beds were cozy. Sandro went above and beyond to make us feel at home during our stay, even asking if there was anything he could pick up for us at the grocery store before our late-night arrival. I cannot recommend this apartment enough!
