The building is reminiscent of eighteenth-century New Orleans architecture and was built sometime before 1883. The apartment is on the second story and is always being updated with new and exciting improvements. The 'Kage House' is located at 120 Broadway in the heart of the Old Town Historical District on the corner of Broadway and Main Street and less than a 10 minutes' walk to the 'Century Casino'. On Main Street you will find many fine shops and restaurants, or just enjoy the scenic area as you walkabout. This is by far one of the best places in Cape to stay!!
The bedroom is furnished with a new Stearns and Foster king size firm pillowtop mattress/bed and flat screen tv with viewing of the Mississippi River from the east window. The living room is furnished with a 'Lazy Boy' queen size sleeper sofa and a 65" flat screen tv. The apartment is fully equipped. Internet/wifi usage is included in the price of your stay.
We are continually investing in the historical building. In October the kitchen counter tops were replaced with granite, the bedroom mattress was replaced with a very comfy firm pillowtop Stearns and Foster mattress, and the kitchen window was replaced with a Pella casement window which allows guests to open for fresh air if they wish. Extensive brick tuck pointing was completed in November on the exterior. Future interior renovations are planned.
Directly across the street is a restaurant by the name of Minglewood. You can enjoy dining as well as a large selection of craft beers.
Enjoy relaxing outside on the deck with a river view of the Mississippi and the historical Old Town Cape dynamic downtown area.
You will most certainly enjoy your stay here in comfort and with a bit of history to boot.

Summary: We enjoyed this property so much!! The location was perfect, it was so clean, very accommodating, perfect amount of space, and awesome host! We were in town for AAU basketball and this rental gave us the comfort of being at home. The washer/dryer availability was a plus after sweaty ballgames! We will definitely be booking this rental in the future! Thank you for a great stay!

Summary: This upstairs unit is perfect for a long weekend getaway trip! It has everything you need and is in the perfect location to the downtown area. Walking distance to shopping and great restaurants! The area is very safe and my daughter and I are comfortable walking around the downtown area any time of day.Great owner with quick response time! We enjoyed our stay and will be back!!

Summary: There couldn’t be a better location for going out on the riverfront in Cape Girardeau. It is well set up with beautiful furniture and all the kitchen supplies you would need. Highly recommend.

Summary: This property is perfect for a stay in Cape. You can see the river from the property. It is in close proximity to several nice restaurants and bars. The property was extremely clean and well equipped, having the washer and dryer was a huge plus as we were in town for a volleyball tournament. It can be a little bit noisy on the weekends due to the area having a couple bars and traffic, but nothing too excessive. We will definitely stay here again.

Summary: This is our third stay here. We love the Kage House and its location. We live only 75 miles from here but it makes a nice weekend get away. The weekend we stayed they were having a car show and our granddaughter had a volleyball tournament in Cape so it worked out great. We will be back!

Summary: What an incredible stay! Waking up to the sunrise over the river was such a peaceful way to start each day. We loved watching the boats drift by and spotting birds while enjoying our morning coffee. The house itself is absolutely beautiful – full of charm and so welcoming. The bed was very comfortable. The thoughtful touches like the snacks and drinks made us feel right at home. The location was perfect – we walked to two local breweries, took a scenic walk along the river, and explored the charming shops on Main Street. We even tried our luck at the casino! Brunch at the restaurant across the street was the perfect way to end our trip. Thank you for such a memorable and relaxing experience. We can't wait to come back!
