Summary: Four of us plus a dog stayed for a few days at Christmas. The property was generally well-equipped, although the kitchen is limited by not having a microwave. Also, accommodation consisted of a double room upstairs, plus a single bed on the upstairs landing and a sofa bed downstairs. We made this work but it might be cramped for a similar or larger group of adults. The owner was very helpful.

Summary: Lovely area in Lower Austria. Good home base for day trips exploring villages and castles. Our hosts Agnes and Stephen were very nice and gave us good information regarding restaurants and wineries. We enjoyed their friendly goats Blackie and Squeezy.

Summary: This lovely farm home was our base while we attended a friend's piano concert in Lilienfeld and for exploring the Danube valley - old castles, monasteries and wineries. Planning a European trip from the US is a bit daunting, Stephan responded promptly to my e-mails and upon arrival even rode his bike up the hillside to guide us when we were hopelessly lost (I had misplaced the exact address he had sent). He and Agnes were welcoming hosts, their son Bern showed us around the farm with its sheep, goats, chickens and horses in this idyllic setting. The apartment was immaculately clean and comfortable with everything we needed. Local roosters even provided duet wake up calls each morning! We would love to return again for a longer stay.

Summary: We came all the way from Israel and spent 2 whole weeks on this lovely little family farm. The cottage was comfortable and clean and had everything we expected, and the owners were welcoming and helpful. The farm is located in a beautiful area, and we enjoyed our long walks in the area, and also our visits to the Danube Valley, the Melk Monastry, The Gardens in Tulln -and other nice places - all within a relatively short distance from the farm.

Summary: We decided on a very cold weekend getaway (it was around -7º to -11ºC) and our search for places to go ended when we found the Wachau valley and Hof Grunfelder. The experience was great from the get-go. They replied to our emails promptly, and when we arrived, they were expecting us with the apartment pre-warmed for our comfort. Stephan was very nice and friendly, provided us with helpful tips and insights about the local area and we even received a gift: a bottle of locally produced schnapps to keep warm... The apartment was very clean and nice, the wood stove in the living room was not only for the romance, but provided ample heat. The bathroom was tip top, better then i had seen in some hotels, and the area is just amazing. The apartment came with everything we needed, it even had a wireless network and we could use our smartphones with it. The whole place is run organically, and the owners even offer some of their own farm produce for sale. In addition, they offer the possibility of a delicious organic breakfast for only €5 per person. Wish we knew about this before hand, as we would have definitely ordered it. It was very easy to find, the description on the internet was very accurate, i would possibly say that the place is even better than what can be gathered from the description on the internet. The customer service we received from the owners was amazing (Agnes even went as far as to research where we could go ice skating!) Overall, despite the freezing cold we had an amazing stay and will definitely be back again.
