In the south of Crete near Triopetra with sweeping views of the Libyan Sea, the Petra Mare property with pool is set on a large, shared lawn. The name ‘Stone Sea’ refers to the main components of the property. Two solidly built stone semi-detached houses, another stone house with two flats and a detached house with a shared pool and wonderful sea views make up this beautiful property.
The semi-detached houses Petra Mare 1-4 are located at a distance of approx. 10 m from each other and approx. 40 to 60 m from the two-storey stone house with the holiday flats Petra Mare 5 and 6. The detached house Petra Mare 8 is located at the far left edge of the property, approx. 50 m from the pool. A large, enclosed, flat lawn and garden plot, overgrown with trees and plants of the Cretan flora surrounds the beautiful property Petra Mare. The approx. 50sqm large, oval and shared pool (approx. 5 x 10m and 1.20 to 1.80m deep, not heatable, in operation from 1.05.-31.10.) with sun loungers and parasols offers its small and large guests enjoyable bathing fun, relaxation and refreshment on some hot days.
The modernly furnished detached house Petra Mare 8 is located slightly offset, directly next to the half of the house Petra Mare 4, which is occasionally used by the landlord. Built at ground level, with a covered entrance terrace and direct access to the garden, the holiday home offers its guests a relaxing holiday. The spacious living/dining room is adjoined by the open-plan kitchen area. The living room leads to both bedrooms and the shared bathroom. Direct access from the living area to the ground-level, covered terrace, the garden and the pool.
What awaits you in this corner of the south coast of Crete is peace, seclusion, a Mediterranean, rural idyll, a charming coastal landscape, great sandy beaches and a very clean sea.
The nearest village, Akoumia, is approx. 10 km away and Spili, where you will find a wide range of shops, is just under 20 km away. There are several tavernas directly on the large Triopetra or larger Triopetra beach, approx. 2 to 2.5 km from the Petra Mare houses.

Summary: The accommodation is basic but very comfortable and extremely clean, you have everything you need when on holiday and the internet conection is also reliable. The views are fantastic (see and mountains) and the beach is very closed. You share the swimming pool with the other guests but most of the time you are on your own. Tavernas with good food nearby but you need a car to explore the area and get around Crete.

Summary: Wat een heerlijke, rustige plek in werkelijk prachtige natuur! In werkelijkheid was het nog mooier dan op de foto's! We hebben genoten van het heerlijke zwembad, het rustige mooie strand wat dichtbij was, wandelingen in de bergen... Het huisje was netjes en schoon, aan niets ontbrak het. En niet te vergeten het prachtige uitzicht. Zeker een aanrader als je van natuur en rust houdt!

Summary: Lovely stay in this beautiful little house. Host was very helpful. Bed setup was 2 double rooms when we arrived. Shared pool very quiet and often just to ourselves. Car is essential and there are no amenities nearby. Lovely taverna 1 mile walk, great beach close by with free sunloungers and 2 tavernas. 1 hour from Rethmeyno by car and 2 hours from Chania Airport.

Summary: De ontvangst was fijn. De host is super vriendelijk en legt duidelijk uit wat je over het huisje moet weten. Het appartement is prettig om in te verblijven. Inclusief een zwembad waar je met enkele andere gasten gebruik van kan maken met fijne ligbedjes. En omdat je wat hoger zit heb je een heerlijk uitzicht. Met de auto waren we binnen een paar minuten op het strand of bij een heel fijn restaurant (Filenia). Als van niet al te toeristisch houdt, is dit een heerlijke plek om te verblijven.

Summary: A lovely house in an amazing location. Out of season so the quiet was really enjoyable. The accommodation was perfect for us( 2 grown ups and 2 toddlers) and very clean. Triopetra beach is very close and other fantastic beaches, mountain walks and nice tavernas. Out of seasons(before Easter) be aware that convenient store are a bit further away if you need. We recommend this place. Thank you

Summary: Freundlicher, hilfsbereiter Eigentümer mit ausreichender Präsenz, Wegen des starken Windes, der mehrere Tage herrschte, klapperten die ohnehin nutzlosen, weil falsch montierten Fensterläden heftig, so dass schlafen "nur mit Valium Einnahme" möglich war. Haus 8 von außen nicht der Hit, seitens der Ausstattung und Raumaufteilung aber im Vergleich zu 1 - 4 am besten.
