Positive: Room was very comfortable and location is great for activities in the city and surrounding areas; hot breakfast was good despite limited offerings; housekeeping staff was friendly, accommodating, and efficient; very good rates compared to comparable hotels in the area
Negative: Seemed understaffed or overwhelmed at the front desk; couldn't call down to the front desk because either the line was busy or phone was off the hook for several hours at a time, had to leave the room and go down to the front desk for any questions or needs then wait for staff to arrive; pool is tiny, especially when the hotel is fully booked
Summary: Pleasant and met our needs for a weekend trip to Chicago and surrounding areas

Positive: Clean facilities, about what to expect for this level of hotel.
Negative: One of two elevators was out of service. This made for long waits at the one and only. Vending (none) & ice machines on guest room floors were non-functional. Breakfast offerings could have been expanded some.

Positive: Breakfast disappointing. The pool was nice and quiet
Negative: When we arrived we had to wait ages for someone on reception to come and check us in. . I asked for a quiet room and she gave us one on the busy main road. I asked to change rooms but she said there wa no rooms available on the other side of the hotel. She did not come over as very friendly or welcoming. No potatoes at breakfast like we had in all the other hotels we stayed in.
Summary: Not as good or as friendly as other Holiday Inns.
