Negative: The place just needs a bit of TLC. The outdoors furniture is tired and windows needs a clean. Such a lovely property just needs some love but apart from that all good.

Positive: I had originally booked me and my son into a suite room in a boutique hotel just around the corner, but decided to book this 2 bed apartment instead at the last minute, for almost half the price. I’m so glad I took the gamble, as it surpassed all my expectations! Communication with the host was very clear regarding book in and check out. The location is absolutely perfect. We loved the vibe in Galata, but the main streets are busy and noisy, whereas this apartment is 100 yards up a side street and the noise disappears. There was some mild bar/club music noise on Fri/Sat night but with double glazing and the bedrooms looking out over the fig tree and gardens below, it was not intrusive. The supermarket is 100yds away which was an added bonus. The air con works brilliantly and is quiet. The flat was spotless. The kitchen was perfectly adequate for our needs. Having a washing machine was the icing on the cake. As others have said, use the T1 tram to Tophane as the walk is a much easier slope, especially with suitcases. It’s then just a few stops to Sultanahmet and all the historic sites. Our taxi driver from the airport also tried to take us to the other Homie that shows up on Google maps, despite me showing him the address. Once he decided to listen to me (!) and I told him it was right by the Tower, he found it ok. Just insist they take you to the Tower and you’ll be fine.
Negative: Nothing!! The space is lovely for a family as long as kids are happy to share a double bed, but don’t expect to be able to cook large meals as there are minimal saucepans etc. However, with so many restaurants, cafes and bars within very easy reach, you really don’t need it! Once someone moved into the flat above mid week, we could hear some noise through the floors. It wasn’t intrusive, but you could sometimes hear their footsteps and their dog running about. If you had someone really noisy above, it might be a problem.

Positive: The location was superb, just a stone's throw away from Galata Tower and the cool city vibes around it. I loved the small art galleries, bookshops and quaint shops around it. The apartment itself was on a quiet street - very private.
Negative: The photo displayed on the apartment looked MUCH nicer than it actually was so that was a bit of a dissappointment. The bathroom design was a bit odd but overall very clean and functional.

Positive: We stayed in this appartment in the past, so we knew it well. Staff - always attentive, good command of English. Very clear checkin instructions (although we knew the location). Clean appartment, decent size, easier access from Tophane tram station (the street is not as steep), large shower cabin. Good quality shower gel and soap. Interesting books left in the appartment. TV could connect to Netflix or Prime.
Negative: This time we had some 'neighbours" above, so you could hear some chairs dragging repeatedly, which was a bit annoying. We managed to ignore somehow. Some towels, although clean, had some white stains on them. But definitely not a problem, as they brought a change of towels after communicating with them.

Positive: Very nice room - decent size, clean, with everything you need. I appreciated the really clean, ironed sheets. There was a small kitchen, but we did not use. Nice and spacious, clean bathroom, with great toiletries. Nice view from the window and close to Galata tower, to ferry and relatively close to metro. I also liked that if you choose to walk from Tophane tram station, there is a very slow upward slope to the apartment (no need for the mountain like slopes from the other streets :) ). Area was good, clean, safe, with plenty of shops, restaurants etc. Welcome water, tea and coffee were a nice touch. Lift is a plus for the luggage, albeit the apartment is at first floor. A special shoutout to our host, Tunc, who really made a difference. To add a bit of context, I had a discouraging experience with another place I booked in advance, and had to cancel after one night. So I found and booked this apartment midday and checked in a couple of hours later. I did not meet anyone, but I promptly received all the relevant information in perfect English. Tunc was always available for additional information and was glad to help with late checkout, depending on the room's further bookings. In the end, we preferred to leave closer to checkout, as to not create issues for the cleaning process of the next guests, and also take advantage of sunny day. But safe to say, vacation saved.
Negative: It can be a bit noisy, meaning you hear whatever passes by: car, motorcycle, person on the street. However, no disco, no bar with late night guests. Also, not a main street, so I would say limited traffic. Not a negative, but as possible improvements - something to hang towels in the bathroom after shower and one of those extendible luggage racks. The pillows rather soft, but maybe just a personal preference.

Positive: The appartment is very well situated. Just a few steps from the Galata Tower, close to Istiklal Street, metro station and tram stations. Going to the Old City and attractions on the other side of the Golden Horn takes just a few minutes. There are plenty restaurants and shops nearby. The view (appartment with terrace) is magnificent. This is not very quiet neighborhood but bearable, taking into consideration tha Istanbul isn't a quiet city at all. And I must emphasize that the Host is very hospitable and quick in response. We felt really taken care of. Thank you ;-]
Negative: I think that the terrace furniture could be replaced for new one. And it would be better if deckchairs could be taken inside the appartment.
