Positive: Great food! Lovely big five sightings with our knowledgeable ranger Riaan. He is very experienced and learned us many new and interesting facts. Beautiful and unique location in the mountains. Newly build reception area which is beautifully decorated with comfortable seating and an infinity pool overlooking the safari plains. The lodge is not fenced so animals come right up to the lodge, so you have big five sightings right infront of the lodge.
Negative: The rooms are still quite old style compared to the reception, and can benefit with some block out curtains and some better pillows on the bed. A screen or divider between rooms will also be beneficial so that you dont look straight into your neighbour balcony and room for more privacy. The barmen can be more attentive in the day time, we had to walk from the pool to the bar to order drinks. The evening staff was great and kept your glasses full. Meat portion is a little small for south Africans but if you speak to the chef he is willing to accommodate you with any food request so that was not a big problem and we did enjoy the food.

Positive: Honeyguide conservation lodge is, without any doubt, a 10/10 experience for us. Everything was spot on from start to finish. Our rangers Karinas and Nick were outstanding: knowledgeable, professional and genuinely passionate. They took their time during every safari and made each drive special. A big thank you as well to the bar staff and the chefs, who prepared incredible meals for us every day. The food was consistently excellent and clearly made with care. The lodge itself is spacious, comfortable and beautifully set in nature. The safari experience at Honeyguide is truly exceptional. We also visited the Kruger National Park, but honestly, the safaris here were better. Even though the reserve is smaller, you still see the Big Five, and the rangers really take the time for you. It feels personal, calm and never rushed. A special thank you to manager Wimpie. He is extremely kind, helpful and takes the time to explain everything about the wildlife, nature and surroundings. His knowledge and enthusiasm add so much to the overall experience. We would highly recommend Honeyguide to anyone. If you have to choose between Kruger National Park and Honeyguide, we would without hesitation choose Honeyguide again. Thank you all for an unforgettable experience.

Positive: nice lodge in a private reserve. Max four cars out at the same time which is great for the experience and the animals, unlike larger parks where there can be 20 cars surrounding the animals. the staff is absolutely wonderful. good food. view of elephants, hippos and much more from the room. everything has worked perfectly. fantastically beautiful location with the mountains in the background. 10/10!
