Positive: After being told check-in was not till 3pm and we had arrived a couple of hours early due to transport scheduling, when we got to check-in it was really pleasant, old world charm from the decor to the lift. Arriving to our room on the second floor, we opened the door to see the old world charm continue, a spacious room in a semi circle shape with great views to the university area high on the hill and the river. Better was to come. 20 minutes after entering our room, a knock on the door and a smiling staff member delivered a bottle of sparkling wine, 2 glasses and a couple of pastries, so unexpected but so lovely. The location was perfect as in the centre and close to access to the university quarter. A walk for us from the bus station to the hotel was fine, flat and easy with our backpacks. I spent some time just sitting at the window looking out upon the square in front as we relaxed after wandering the hill of the university or walking along the river. What a great place.
