Negative: I really couldn’t stand the strong room freshener scent in the upstairs hallways. It was not really in the room itself, but the smell lingered in my nose or memory for a couple days after and gave me a headache. I’m very sensitive to strong smells. :(

Positive: The suite we had was very nice. The bedroom area had a wall the separated it from a small kitchenet. There were pocket doors to the bathroom, and also to another sitting room. The sitting room and bedroom both had TVs. The entire suite was very clean. Even though the hotel is very old, the only thing that would make you think it was, is maybe the high ceilings. These is nothing I can list as a negative when it comes to the room we had.
Negative: Breakfast was not what we were expecting. When booking, it said breakfast included. At check in we were told there was a breakfast buffet downstairs and that there were a few things set out in a little room down the hall from us. We went downstairs for the buffet. It was maybe 9:00 when we went down. There was nobody else in the restaurant eating. The buffet looked like maybe only one person before us had been in to eat. The food was only lukewarm. The biscuits were so hard you couldn't cut them, and almost couldn't even stick a fork in them. The real kicker though, is that the buffet was not included in the stay, and we paid $40 for food we barely touched. The breakfast that was included was the items upstairs. Since we only walked by, I'm not sure what all was in there, but it looked like maybe just some cereal and toast. Maybe a little fruit, not sure.
Summary: Great place to stay, but skip the breakfast.

Positive: Location perfect for walking around the small town and historic sites; room was newly refurbished, spacious and clean and bathroom was fine; easy to access room. Restaurant downstairs has very good food for dinner. Friendly and helpful staff.
Negative: Breakfast included in the room price was in the small kitchen upstairs. It had self-serve variety but was very basic and not great - just good enough - better breads or pastries would help. The option to get breakfast at the restaurant downstairs at a 10% discount is helpful although we did not do that because of time constraints. One night the noise from others talking loudly in the hall was a problem so sound insulation is not great.
