Summary: The hotel has a wonderful location directly next to the nature reserve Lueneburger Heide. Just just have to walk a few steps to see endless fields of heather. Rooms were spacious and clean. It also has an elevator. The reason why I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is due to lack of customer service. We arrived in the evening and asked where we could dine and the receptionist recommended the onsite restaurant. However, the restaurant could not seat us due to incoming reservations (tables had reservation signs on them) but also did not make any effort to find an alternative solution, such as seating us at the bar. We felt brushed off and not welcomed. When we mentioned it to the reception, she did not care either. The receptionist at check-out in the morning was more friendly. Seemed to be a hotel for people who come to the region for horseback riding.

Summary: We had a stay for 2 days in Hof Südermühlen. It is a nice hotel and the surroundings are very idyllic. Everything was okay. However we were not satisfied with the wifi. You can easily get codes for use of wifi in reception, it works very fine. But there is obviously not enough bandwidth to see much more than your emails ! The wifi / Internet is very slow for other things. When a hotel has 4 stars - efficient access to the internet should be a "need to have". The breakfast was excellent !

Summary: Comfortable bed and room, very accommodating staff in lovely surroundings. Food (including breakfast) above and beyond expectations.
