Positive: Staff was very nice and helpfull. Room was comfortable, big and location was great. Bed was also great, Hästens.
Negative: No airconditioning so had to keep the windows open and then you could hear noises from outside.

Positive: The hotel is in a great location at the top end of town -- easy to get from there to Old Town, but also easy to get to tram stations, Telliskiivi, Rotermann quarter, and other neighborhoods. Building is an medieval house that has been renovated while still preserving some obscuring some of its interesting stonework and other interior details. Although we did not eat in the restaurant, the space is beautiful. Additionally, the beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were modern, and everything was quite clean. We also enjoyed the sauna and small pool in the basement. One of the two rooms our group stayed in overlooked the courtyard, and they reported their room was quiet.
Negative: Our room facing the street was quite noisy -- passing vehicles in the narrow lane sounded like trains coming through. Although some front desk staff were friendly and helpful, we occasionally arrived to find nobody at the front desk nor responding to the bell, and had to get our own keys from behind the desk. Additionally, there is very little attention to the hotel email. Hence, when we emailed *during our stay* to find a solution to the room noise (after finding nobody at the desk), we did not hear back until well after we had left. We were then were blamed for not speaking to somebody before we'd checked out. This was a problem the hotel management had created, but they were not eager to accept responsibility for it. There was no way to plug our sink, which would have been helpful for washing smalls. I asked for a plug at the front desk and was informed they did not have one, and that was that. Sorry, but if I'm paying 300 Euro/night for a room, solving a small problem like this for a guest (which shouldn't have been an issue to begin with) should be a no-brainer for the staff. Guests may need to modify your expectation of a suite: this just meant that in addition to the spacious bedroom, there was a small anteroom with two chairs, a small table, and a mirror. Additionally, the walls and floors throughout the hotel are quite bare -- very little art and few rugs or other decor/comforts, which makes the rooms and common spaces feel rather sterile. There isn't really a lounge where people can gather, although the restaurant or the sauna might serve this purpose for some. All of this made the doubled price that we paid for the rooms (due to the timing during a local event) feel positively extortionate -- I've rarely paid so much for so little. Although this might feel like a decent value if you paid a regular or discounted price for the room, it felt like low value for our money. Would avoid in the future.
Summary: Clean, modern, well located, but some rooms noisy & staff sometimes unresponsive/unhelpful.

Positive: On the far border of the north side of the old city it was a five-minute walk to the main area, and a 30 second walk to exit onto the main tram platform. Close enough to see everything, quiet enough to sleep well at night with the windows open The staff were the best I have come across in the western world, absolutely attentive and paid attention to every detail. They are proud of their hotel and proud of their profession.
Negative: I can't think of a thing I did not like.
