Positive: Wow I very like this place and this is my 4 time I booked this hotel. Everything is perfect here , personal, the room every time is clean , the staff is amazing !!!!! The price is perfect, the parking spaces are great , every time you have a parking here , the location is perfect 1 minute from the beach, perfect stay, perfect staff, everything! Thank you so much very appreciated! Pet friendly hotel! Perfect stay in Newport Beach! Thank you so much!
Negative: Now they start take the parking fee of 28$ per night. Before it was complimentary parking for free ! So I don’t like it .

Positive: The location is great for beach access and there are several restaurants in walking distance. The hotel has been updated inside. Bed was comfortable and room had a fridge. The fridge originally in our room didn't work but the staff swapped it for another one that did work right away. Bathroom fixtures were nice and clean.
Negative: The room was not very clean. Dusty furniture, floors were not clean. I think they only have one cleaning person for the whole hotel so we had to ask for our room to be cleaned and it wasn't addressed until 4 or 5 pm both days. Even on the fourth floor, our ocean view (and street facing) room was really loud because of traffic on the road. That's obviously not the fault of the hotel and they do actually provide earplugs in the room but it was a definite bummer to have so much noise. The shower head in our shower either shot a small spray of water that was painful or dribbled so close to the wall it was hard to get under. The sink drain was very slow. It's also no longer called Hotel Solarena. The sign on the front of the building now says Solano which made it difficult to find the first time.
Summary: Reasonable value but lots of little annoyances

Positive: The location was absolutely perfect for our little vacation, and having the beach just across the road and a wonderful restaurant like Eat Chow right next door made for the perfect getaway experience. The staff was super helpful, and the hotel was always clean. We weren’t sure what to expect when we booked the hotel for the amazing price we got it for, but we were truly blown away, and we cannot wait to return to enjoy another wonderful vacation at Hotel Solarena
Negative: There were just little conveniences missing from the stay, no cups stocked in the room for the coffee machine and kettle in the room, no towels out by the pool even though the sign said there would be, no shampoo in the shower just two body washes, and it would have been nice if there was a vending machine or snacks available for purchase.
Summary: Truly a wonderful place for a beachside getaway.

Positive: Very close to the beach, about a three minute walk. There was a restaurant nearby as well. Cute lounge room and there was tea bags offered in the rooms.
Negative: Pool was unusable at night, the area was covered in huge black roaches. $30 a night for parking is extreme and the parking lot itself was very tight and tiny. The room we stayed in does not reflect any of the pictures on their website. The walls were very thin and you could easily hear cars passing by and people walking past your room.
Summary: Close to the beach, but overpriced and poorly maintained condition.
