Positive: Beautiful grounds and fantastic beach with safe, shallow, crystal clear water .Very well maintained gardens and eating areas .Staff were very attentive. Very peaceful and relaxed . Great breakfast , snack lunches and salads available and an interesting dinner menu . Obviously a lot of fish . Fantastic pudding selection .Good beach service with comfortable sun loungers and towels provided .We did a lovely boat trip from the marina and saw the coastline from the sea . Just the two of us on the trip with a guide . We stopped to swim in isolated bays . I would recommend this .
Negative: Nothing about the property . It was lovely . Villasimius is a small town and we visited all the shops in one evening . There is a dusty unmade road leading up to the hotel and it was a long walk to the town . The marina is walkable and had a few restaurants. It is an unspoilt area with little development which is lovely but even with a car we were unable to find any towns to wander around so the emphasis of the holiday had to be very beach focused . I think we were expecting some old Italian villages with little streets and squares for a coffee or an aperitif. The beach is very relaxed so no water sports available . Overall though we loved the holiday and the beach was fabulous , the nicest in the area .
Summary: We had a lovely time in a beautiful hotel with a fabulous beach .

Positive: First off, the location is amazing! The water during the first week of August was extraordinarily clear and the temperature was just right to offset against the day's heat. The hotel restaurant was top notch, and they were the heroes of our hotel stay. The food quality and variety were excellent as they changed the menu daily. Some of the waiters were particularly nice and helpful. They don't wear name tags, but I recall that one bar staffer, Inna, was very helpful and polite. Half board is highly recommended. The view from our "sea view" room was outstanding. We also found a lovely spot in the shade of some trees to enjoy the view outside when the temperature was getting a bit to warm. You'll see below that we ran into some bumps in our first days, but we were able to recover and find work arounds to make up for the initials shocks and enjoy the stay. The garden area between the hotel and the beach was quiet and well maintained. The beach itself was not crowded (probably owing to the cost of "beach service" - covered below) and pretty peaceful. The room temperature ended up being good, but you have to ask the front desk to adjust the temperature because you can only adjust plus/minus three degrees on your own.
Negative: Ok, now the downsides. Starting with the Airport Transfer, the hotel will just book you a private vehicle for €110 each way. Granted it's an hour drive from the airport, but we thought there would be something provided by the hotel at a significant discount, which is one reason why we booked this hotel in the first place. Second, on arrival, we were notified that we couldn't use the hotel's beach chairs, even though were paying around €600 per night, and they wanted another €100 per day for "beach service." We declined to pay the extra fee and were just given access to towels, but when we went to the beach, we were told only the provided beach chairs were allowed on the private beach and we couldn't lay out our towels. When we raised our concerns with a young receptionist (they don't wear name tags), she surprisingly suggested we could walk to another beach. When we informed her that we selected this hotel for this specific beach, she shrugged without providing any other viable options or suggestions. When we entered the room, it was unexpectedly small, and the "king-size" bed was really just a queen-sized bed. Probably the most egregious issue was the fact that the hotel does not provide any free water, and you cannot drink from the tap. With temperatures of 30C-35C daily, a daily service of water would be warranted, but instead you must pay €2 per half liter and €4 per full liter. When we asked the same receptionist about the water issue, she replied dismissively that we would have to pay. When we asked about options for shops, she informed us that there were shops, but we'd need a car to get there. When we replied that we didn't bring a car, she said nothing. She declined to share that the hotel has electric and regular bicycles for €10 and €5, respectively (we found this out later) or that the nearest shop was just a 13-minute walk away.
Summary: Amazing location, Beautiful Views, Great Food, Peaceful, Relaxing (except for some hotel policies)
