Positive: Stunning location on the top of the hill. Beautiful views from the window, nesting swifts all around.
Negative: Breakfast wasn’t very good at all. Very basic pre-packed baking, no fruit. But it made up for it in the architecture and location.

Positive: The location was amazing. The castle is perfectly preserved but has modern features to ensure an enjoyable stay. The views were 10/10
Negative: We were unaware that the breakfast needed to be pre-ordered the night before so had to leave the castle and drive 20mins to get something to eat.

Positive: Amazing place to stay! Lovely castle room, most beautiful view from the room I have ever seen. Calm and peaceful. Bed is comfortable, the bathroom wide and well equipped. 100% recommend.
Negative: Breakfast is fine, but a bit wider assortment of food would be nice.

Positive: The hotel is quite unique, having been a castle at some stage. The buffet breakfast was good and we had nice views all the way to Gibraltar from the window. Room had a nice big bath and there was a cute little bar and outside terrace.
Negative: Apart from the hotel and restaurant for lunch and dinner, there was not much to do there apart from wander around the village.

Positive: We were kindly offered a choice of two different rooms, and the one we chose had eight windows and a pair of french doors opening out onto a small balcony. The view from there was positively breathtaking - never before have we been able to see eagles from above! The restaurant (in a separate building) was also excellent, both in terms of food and value. The breakfast was also extremely good.
Negative: The road up the mountain is a bit challenging, but well worth the effort.
Summary: Where eagles dare - and it's worth it!

Positive: A unique experience being able to stay in the castle. Fabulous views, excellent room with enormous, comfortable bed which was very much appreciated. The restaurant staff and food were excellent. Surprisingly good value for money and delicious, hearty food.
Negative: A bit of a cool reception on arrival which was disappointing, but all other staff were open and enthusiastic.
Summary: Recommend 1 or 2 nights at this lovely establishment.
