Positive: My first booking was a regular room, which I have already rated. I decided to extend my stay and upgraded to a better room (thanks to Booking.com - seriously the rate was practically the same and I got a bigger/better room with a jacuzzi!). That basically says it all! The room was bigger and nicer (doesn't mean the other wasn't nice, it just means this one was one step up, okay 1,5 steps up!). I enjoyed my stay at the Zapotlan Hotel. Staff is very friendly and helpful, it is centrally located - perfect for me! Wifi works, it was clean, there was hot water in the shower - all good! Quite a few nice cafes and restaurants in walking distance. A few places where you get freshly squeezed juiced! Just behind the main cathedral. Or on the weekend there was a market, I ate from the street vendors - very delicious!
Negative: Northing comes to mind! Maybe next time I would invest a little more money in the better room the first time, it is really worth it!
Summary: Love Ciudad Guzman/Zapotlan and the hotel was the prefect place for me to stay there!

Positive: Hotel Zapoltlan is a nice very hotel, not because it is very new or super up to date, but because it has character! A lot of history here! And I do like Zapotlan or sometimes it is called Ciudad Guzman Plus they are renovating the place, room by room! But only during the day, so there is no noise in the evening! The staff is really friendly and helpful and a shoutout to the cleaning staff - AMAZING! The location couldn't be better, you step outside the hotel and you are right downtown, at Central Plaza! But it is rather quiet because the rooms are further in the back! (at least my room was). They have a decent size, but very basic. Shower works and provides warm water! Also, they have bigger and better rooms. I wanted to stay an extra 3 days in the city and BOOKING.COM had an amazing offer for these better rooms, so I took advantage of that, but I will write a separate review for that.
Negative: Please don't expect anything fancy, it is a hotel with a lot of history(which means it is a bit old)! But I like it! Certainly not your average hotel!
Summary: Zaptlan - a very nice city and a very nice hotel!
