Summary: Mara was so nice and kept us informed. The apartment was lovely with 3 balconies, with views. The food in the restaurant was wonderful. We enjoyed having space , a nice kitchen and bathroom. The entire family was so welcoming.

Summary: Simply put, five stars is an understatement. This property has wonderful new villas with private decks and patios, 2 pools including a new infinity pool on top of the hill with views to the Mediterranean. But more importantly, the Prato Verde Restaurant on the property is a culinary delight. Our hostess and head chef, Mara Angeli, created a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and served some of the most wonderful meals we could imagine. And she made special gluten free meals for us as well. This venue is a must for anyone looking for a Tuscan getaway with fine food and wine.

Summary: Thanks for a really nice stay. We got a warm welcome with wine and small samples from Maras kitchen. Mara and the whole family was very hospitable and helpful, without ever being overbearing. The apartment was fine and had the necessary equipment and comfortable furniture both inside and out. The surroundings were well maintained, the apartment was clean and inviting We bought a cooking course in Maras kitchen and it was a good learning experience for the whole family. We chose our selves, in consultation with Mara, the dishes we wanted to learn to cook. We spent some hours in the kitchen and could then take both lunch, dinner and dessert home in the apartment. The site has a small swimming pool, but Mara was in the process of building a larger pool with a beautiful view over the valley. We had a great holiday and would love to come again.

Summary: We spent a wonderful week in the Glycine appartment with our two children (3 and 13 years old). Although the appartment is relativley small and our daughter slept on the sofabed in the main room, we loved that place so much that we didn't mind the missing room. The appartment has twoonderful terraces, on of which has sun in the morning so that we were able to have breakfast outside even in April! Kitchen (gas stove!!!) and bathroom totally good for a nice holiday, The parent's bedroom really nice and place enough for baby cot. The surroundings are wonderful- a little paradise inmidst untouched nature if you walk up the hill to the end of the via di monti, and on the terrain itself there are olive trees, a slide and a swing, and a walking path that leads to a vista point with view on the beautiful lago del torre and the ocean behind. Wonderful and charming altogehter. and last but not least: the high quality home made food in Mara's restaurant- we recommend the mixed Tuscan appetizers and all of Mara's homemade pasta. A real good Italian cuisine which is hard to find elsewhere- a real nice restaurant that I recommend highly to everyone who loves fresh cooked Italian cuisine made ith love! An ideal place for a quite holiday but also for swimming in the ocean (free beach at the marina di lago del torre!) or culture and shopping holidays (Lucca very nice, only 20 minutes by car) and Pisa is only a good 30 minutes' drive away. As or Florence and other Tuscan towns: we didn't go there as we already know other parts of Tuscany, but I'm sure they can easily reached by car or even train from Lucca. But the region around Lucca is worth a holiday itself, so if I were you, I'd first stay in the area itselff as there is al ot to discover! We'll come back soon, that's for sure!

Summary: After a lovely welcome with bruschetta italiana we were immediately feeling comfortable. The location in and around the apartment was great and we enjoyed using the nice pool, the two large and inviting sun terraces and the surroundings of the beautiful house. mara and her family were vey friendly. the house as such was very clean and pleasing, so it felt like home and there was nothing to worry about. we could use all of our time to relax and thoroughly enjoy the stay. the restaurant that is connected to the apartments was excellent. when staying at the apartment, it is necessary to have a car because the apartments are quite remote from towns like lucca, viareggio or pisa. we can only recommend staying there and are already considering going back there next year.

Summary: We enjoyed our 2 weeks. It was a warm welcome with an Antipasti Toskani. In the price everything was included (even a cot for our baby) and the property was clean. We would recommend it, maybe not for families with small children (1-2 years) because the garden could be a bit dangerous (small levels behind the house, swimming-pool), it would be better for older children. Nice cities are arround the locations (Lucca, Pisa, Firenze; Siena about 150 km).

Summary: A highly recommandable appartement. We had two lovely weeks there. Three wonderful terraces, a well-sized pool, a very good equiped kitchen, very friendly hosts and an excellent restaurant with Tuskan specialities. Although located a little bit lonely on the top of a hill, surrounded by great nature (very very calm) it was only a stone's throw away from Lucca, Viareggio and the versilia coast. So a good starting base for sightseeing. Maybe not so attractive for holidays with small kids but perfect for a relaxing holiday. Important: You definitly need a car.
