Summary: The house was excellent value for money. It had everything we needed. The house was perfect for children and was in a great location which was nice and peaceful. The sea was only a few minutes’ walk away. The view of the mountains was stunning. We would highly recommend the house.

Summary: This property is a villa on two floors in a small complex in Betlem, a village in the north-east of the island. Betlem is very quiet as is fairly stated in the listing and it does have some attractive coves to walk to. The mention of a "sea view" is quite an exaggeration but the sea can be seen from the balcony of the master bedroom with a good deal of craning of the neck. More importantly, the villa was advertised when I booked as having internet but it did not. This was hugely disappointing to the family and I spent a small fortune on mobile internet. The owner apologised but this was perfunctory. The listing has since been corrected. The accommodation is otherwise of a good standard but the kitchen area is in permanent semi-darkness having no artificial lighting beyond a dim bulb attached to a ceiling fan. The DVD player was not working and there is only satellite television with no Spanish channels whatsoever. The lack of refuse collection in the village is a hassle. The swimming pool and tennis court are certainly a bonus but somewhat "tired". I would nevertheless have given a positive review overall except that I paid a refundable deposit against damage which the owner has failed to refund as of 15 June in spite of apologising (again) and promising to do so.
