Summary: We loved the bach at Hunter Bay! It was an adventure from the start, finding the Brooklyn wind turbine high above the city, then winding our way down through bush and farmland to the rugged coast. Then the delight of finding our rustic yet well appointed bach right on the stony foreshore. We enjoyed a sample of all of Wellington's weather! There were seals & seabirds, and the setting is a beachcombers heaven. This place is truly a treasure but not for those who need all their mod cons on holiday. It's a true Get Away!

Summary: We had a nice stay at this bach at a beautiful and unique location. It was a bit hard to reach, but Chrissy and Steve were very quick to help us out when we decided we needed a last-minute taxi. The house was spacious and clean and an excellent place to start a nice beach walk from. Seals on the front step!

Summary: I found it to be a very relaxing stay in a very functional house with everything you need. Plenty of life to watch through the windows such as nesting oyster catchers guarding their eggs, gannets wizzing past, seals and great black back gulls in their natural environment breaking shells looking forward to going back.

Summary: We had a great stay in this lovely, well appointed bach. I don't think you would find many like this. The waves crashing, watching the weather, tracking the ships on the shipping app, it was a great time. While isolated, not exactly quiet. The weather has it's own sounds. But this is a great place to sit back and watch it happen.

Summary: Very lovely off the grid property and surprised us how little energy you need to live. It is a really nice rustic house with amazing view of the water. It is virtually in front of the Cook Strait. Great walk along the waterfront and seeing seals, oyster catchers etc beautiful

Summary: This place is an absolute work of art, we stayed here for our anniversary weekend and I couldn’t have imagined a better spot. A long 4x4 track to get in (probably 35 minutes from downtown Wellington along a bumpy unsealed road), so you will need a 4x4 to get here comfortably. Also, good to stock up on supplies since once you arrive you’ll want to stay. Comfortable bed, amazing bath/shower. Seal colony literally in the doorstep, amazing shells and pāua diving, etc etc. I almost don’t want to go on about how amazing this place was so I can come back again without it being booked up! Worth the adventure, beautiful in all weather, a wonderful place. Look forward to coming back.
