Summary: Well designed and fully equipped 2-bedroom gite set in vineyards within 5 minutes drive of St Emilion and surrounding wineries. The peace and tranquility of the setting is delightful, with all you need for your stay in the two-storey farmhouse. Access to the many good restaurants and historic monuments in St Emilion made this 5-day stay one of our highlights.

Summary: We had a very pleasant stay at the gite. We loved the surroundings and it was so quiet. The house has everything for a family. Nicole was very nice and she made us feel at home.

Summary: Lovely stay, with great host who went out of their way to check all was ok with our stay. Little touches like a personalised note and wine was so nice. The location of this property is not only beautiful but very well located, waking up amongst the vines and watching the sun set from the terrace … perfect

Summary: We had a lovely week’s holiday in la Gîte de Lys at the beginning of Aug 22. Set on a vineyard in a rural idyllic location the Gîte is well equipped, very clean and the location is beautiful. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly. We really enjoyed the bottle of wine that they gave us, it is a very rare treat to drink a glass of wine standing amongst the vines from where it came. St Emilion is just 5mins drive away and we enjoyed our sunset strolls and ate well in the restaurants. We visited Bergerac, Marmande and enjoyed the French markets at Castillon le Bataille and Libourne. We also visited Bordeaux which is only 40mins away. We spent time at le Lac de Gurson where we enjoyed swimming and also walking amongst the pines. There is also free canoeing, volleyball and a beach. It is very well set up, very clean and with changing rooms and a good cafe. Worth a visit, not busy at all and we went in the peak of summer. We really enjoyed our stay at the Gîte and will remember this special area fondly. Thank you to our hosts for their hospitality.

Summary: The gîte de Lys offers an ideal harmony with tradition and modern living destination perfect for enjoying a quiet holiday in the middle of a sea of vineyards. But the most important is the unique welcoming ambiance that Nicole and her family create to ensure an unforgettable stay. Awesome hosts and wine producer, I will highly recommend trying their own label wine from 2016. Gladly recommended!

Summary: Lovely setting overlooking vines. Nice bedrooms - large and airy. All very clean. Attractive dining area with French doors out on to patio. 40 mins drive from Bordeaux and perfect for wine-tasting action! Tourist office in St Emilion very helpful.

Summary: We enjoyed a fantastic (and very hot!) week in this lovely property in the heart of the vineyard. Such a clean and tidy gîte with a lovely cool interior, and beautiful views across the pretty garden. Nicole and Alain were very welcoming and kind hosts, nothing was too much trouble for them, yet we still enjoyed 100% privacy. The kitchen and bathroom were exceptionally well equipped, and as a group of three adults we were really well suited. The gîte is a short drive away from Saint Emilion with all its attractions, also the pretty village of Montagne with some shops, restaurants etc. We enjoyed local trips and walks, and found it easily possible to visit Bordeaux, also thé Dordogne région is accessible though perhaps a little far. All in all we had a great week and are happy to recommend this lovely corner of France and a traditional gîte which stayed cool in the hot weather. Thank you Nicole and Alain. ,
