Black Bear Falls Cabin | Idle Days | Stately Porch, Hot Tub, Pool Table

2 Bedroom Cabin in Black Bear Falls, Gatlinburg

Idle Days was designed with one thing in mind: total relaxation. The 2-bedroom, the 2-story cabin has its own hot tub and pool table, plus a covered porch outfitted with rockers, a swing, and a picnic table so that you can spend an entire day outdoors reveling in the sunshine, the mountain breeze, and the singing of chickadees and thrushes. But while its location among old-growth trees provides peace and privacy, it’s also just a short walk to swimming pools and only a 5-minute drive to the excitement of downtown Gatlinburg.
The covered porch that wraps around the front and side of the cabin is large enough for the whole gang to congregate. You can cook up hamburgers—or even better, trout you reeled in yourself!—on the charcoal grill then savor it in the cool shade of the porch while gazing out onto the pond and watching birds flit from tree to tree.
The lower level has its own deck and it also houses the hot tub. Should you venture out for a day of skiing, hiking, rafting, or exploring the Gatlinburg Arts and Crafts Loop, a long soak will unknot your tired muscles afterward. Of course, you can skip the physical activity and still treat yourself to a session in the tub’s steamy, bubbling waters. You’re on vacation—we won’t judge!
The downstairs is also home to the game room. No need to drive into town at night in search of amusement: You can shoot some pool at the game room’s full-size billiard table while watching TV or listening to music on the CD player. Idle Days has a library of books and board games too—there really is entertainment for all ages here!
The main floor’s living room is another great hangout space. The plush roll-arm sofas are so comfortable, once you kick back you might never want to get up again! That’s okay: You can watch your favorite cable channels on the flat-screen TV, surf the web, or stretch out for a nap. In winter the gas fireplace makes the room especially cozy and gives the wood floor, walls, and ceiling a welcoming glow.
The adjacent dining area can also accommodate the entire gang. The long farmhouse table seats 8 people comfortably; after you’ve cleared the dishes, bring out the Scrabble game and settle in for a tournament. Or make some popcorn and head to the living room for a movie, or whip up a batch of daiquiris and sip them out on the porch. So many options!
In addition to a blender for mixing those frosty drinks, the kitchen has plenty of other appliances, from oven/stove and microwave to coffeemaker and toaster. You’ll also find all the cookware and tableware you could possibly need. And because nobody wants to scrub plates while on vacation, Idle Days has a dishwasher too.
When it comes to RnR, a comfortable bedroom is key. Idle Days has 2, one on each floor for maximum privacy if you’re vacationing with another couple. Each bedroom has a king-size bed for sprawling across, a TV, plenty of storage, and direct access to one of the cabin’s 2 full bathrooms. What’s more, a sofa in the living room and the couch in the game room each open into a bed for 2, enabling up to 8 people to stay overnight.
Although Idle Days has just about everything you need to happily while away your vacation, there’s plenty more to do just outside your doorstep. In the summer you can walk to the heated pools—one for adults and one for kids—of the Black Bear Falls Log Home Community. And any time of year you can drive to downtown Gatlinburg in just a few minutes, where you can enjoy miniature golf, an aquarium, and more. And let’s not forget the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the country’s most popular, with its hiking trails, waterfalls, wildlife, and wildflowers.
Sounds like a dream vacation, doesn’t it? Here’s your chance to make it a dream come true: Book your stay at Idle Days today!

Summary: Location is really easy to get to from 2 different ways which is good in times of high traffic. Loved the seasonal decorations for Fall. Beds(Mattress/Box Springs) could use an update as both beds squeak when you sit on them. Shower heads could use cleaning attention. Communication was really good & well in advance. The double deck wraparound pouches was extremely nice & well furnished. Hot top needs cleaning & recalculation of chlorine/chemicals.

Summary: Our family really enjoyed staying at this property! Enjoyed reading a book in one of the rockers on the porch! Great environment to cook family dinners while watching some old school movies! Our pups got some good exercise a few times a day and found their favorite little areas to visit!

Summary: This cabin was as advertised and great for two couples. However, the parking is quite tight and a large vehicle would be a squeeze. We picked this cabin because of the location in Gatlinburg and the ability to bring our dog. However, there are no trails in the development because of the steep topography and all the roads are paved. There is actually very little grassy area to walk the dog. I would still recommend it as long as you are forewarned on the parking and inability to take your dog for a long walk right from your door.

Summary: We loved staying at this cabin for a weeklong getaway with our two boys (12 and 10) and our Havanese dog. Everyone had their own space and the cabin was plenty big enough for all of us. We loved the deck for eating outside and the living areas for hanging out (the boys loved playing their own version of pool!). Speaking of pool—the community pool was a hit for everyone and was a short walk from the cabin. The cabin is tucked away and in a nice, quiet location, but be warned that the driveway is on an incline and can be daunting to navigate! The hills in the complex will get your heart pumping, especially when you take your dog on daily walks to see the many ducks and geese that live in the nearby ponds. ☺️ Overall, we would recommend this property to family and friends and would stay here again!

Summary: This property is very well kept. It is in a great location. It is close enough to Gatlinburg, the craft loop, and Pigeon Forge but is secluded enough to get away from all the crowds. We rally enjoyed our stay. Just one note to make about the property...If you have a large vehicle parking may be a challenge.

Summary: ABSOLUTELY LOVE! The cabin was exactly as listed, very clean, and cozy. The payment process, check in process and check out process was very easy. The cabin is a very short way from downtown Gatlinburg and a short easy drive from Pigeon Forge. The cabin has everything you need supplied. We were all extremely sad to be checking out and leaving the cabin. It definitely felt like home while on vacation. We Will absolutely be using Jackson Mountian Cabin rentals again for future vacations!

Summary: It was very nice and clean as described. I would recommend if you have little ones you take a baby gate (38”) because of stairs but other than that it was perfect.

Summary: Private and peaceful. Easiest stay ever. Received updates via text/email for check-in/check-out. Cabin had everything we needed. Food City is less than 5 minute drive, so we could grab food for the week. Close enough to parkway to quickly join tourists at shops, restaurants or sightseeing, but far enough to enjoy authentic peace and quiet while lounging on the deck. Anything we needed during our stay was immediately addressed (mid-week garbage pick-up; power outage due to heavy thunder and lightning storm.) The week was a success! Family (husband, daughters(25), nephew(19)) loved the cabin this trip! We visit the area monthly, but usually stay at a hotel. This trip in a cabin was delightful and afforded us room to gather together (play pool, soak in hottub, eat meals, watch tv), but it also gave us space to spread out for quiet time on our own to nap, read a book or just chill. Saw some beautiful black bears while sitting outside too on a few occasions too!!!! Thank you!!!!!!!!
