Summary: We had a great six days in Mazille at this guesthouse. The owner, Gilles and his partner Cecile, were friendly and warm. One thing to remember when staying at a guest house in Europe is that it is expected that you bring your own sheets and towels. Coming from the United States of course we forgot this but Gilles stepped in and saved the day. The location is ideal for exploring Cluny and the vineyards of southern burgundy and the Beaujolais. A wonderful taste of the French countryside!

Summary: Very nice location with walled garden ideal for young children. The kitchen was dirty when we arrived, but ok, it wasn´t so bad and the owner told us he will check on the cleaning team in for the future. There are basically two seperated double sized bedrooms and the sigle beds are on the first floor. You could stay there with two couples and some kids. No bakery in the direct neighbourhood, so we drove to Cluny every morning...which is not so far and very nice...but you have to get into you car for it :-).

Summary: A lovely gite in an excellent location. Just worth noting that the access to bedroom and bathroom upstairs is through the other bedroom.

Summary: This is a superbly restored vineyard house complete with a huge barn displaying a wonderful old wine press. Although we were a party of 4 it could easily accommodate 8 people. The facilities were everything one needed within the house and the gardens were beautifully kept with flowers, fruit and tomatoes. The setting is tranquil yet not isolated as there are other properties beside it and a well-stocked village shop within walking distance or a 2 minute drive away. There's also a restaurant in the village and lots to choose from in the magnificent village of Cluny which only 10 minutes away. This house is a great base for anyone who wants to see places of interest in Burgundy such as the Abbey at Cluny, the incredible site of Solutre, the chateau at Cormatin, the Domains of Pouilly Fuisse or the very many other churches etc that abound in this region.Having holidayed in other properties in Burgundy we found this to be one of the best especially as our hosts Elsa and Gilles were not only helpful before our visit but during it as well. Their communication was prompt, informative and friendly. Although they don't live nearby arrangements are in place for assistance from a local farmer should it be needed. A thunderstorm knocked out the WiFi and once contacted Elsa immediately got it sorted thereby saving our sanity as all parents know this is a prerequisite for children whether on holiday or at home! When Elsa and Gilles visited at the weekend they were as charming as their emails had indicated inviting us for coffee in the garden and a friendly chat! We couldn't recommend this property highly enough and certainly hope to return.

Summary: Oldfashioned house, very tastefully modernized; big garden, well kept; both bathrooms (shower, washingmachine) and the kitchen are modern with all necessary equipment, plates, glasses etc. refrigerateur with freezing, microwave, coffeemachine, tablewasher, ..., we missed nothing - and everything functioned without any problems. The house has a wonderful terrace, lot of places for sitting outside (tables, chairs - everything available even a table tennis) and a wonderful view to the burgundy landscape. The free WiFi worked well. There are two bedrooms with two separate bathrooms, additional a bigger sleeping room and an big enough living room with a (modern) fireplace in its old frame and a TV set. Very tastefull and practical interior indeed - but not so exclusive that you can't bring children to the house. With the garden and the 3 sleepingrooms it is well suited for two couples with children. The house is quiet on a very small road; village with shop, postoffice and restaurant is 5 - 10 minutes walk. Nearby is a lot to discover, as the famous rock of Solutré, the abbay of Cluny, wine caves and lots of other sightseeing spots. The owners were very friendly and helpful with every question and flexible with arrival and departure times. We - two couples - enjoyed our stay very much. Thank You to Elsa and Gilles for the wonderful days we could spend here.
