Summary: Wow, what a beautiful village with all these stone houses. We have not seen such a nice compilation of houses. The Tünelli house we stayed in had such a beautiful view and so many nice and private areas to relax, read a book, dream away, stroll around the large garden or enjoy the private pool. Also within walking distance to the beach with its restaurants, beach clubs and water sports. The hosts also have been very forthcoming. This has not been the last time we stayed with Nilgün and Johan

Summary: This summer we spend another 2 weeks in Yarbasan Tünelli and had a fantastic time in this extraordinary house. We have not encountered a village and home more special than this, for which we came back this year. The village is build only 10 years ago in an old bodrum style, but all the amenities are modern. The view, the garden, the pool are also great. The beach with its restaurants and water sports activities can be reached in about 10-15 min by foot. Bodrum itself is about 15 min by car and the beautiful village of Gümüslük is about 20 min away. This time we also visited the roman/greek village of Ephesus which is about 2 hours away by car. Although we spend the entire day there we were barely able to see all monuments. Amazing is the 2000 year old library. Because of the turmoil in Turkey the last 2 years we were a bit anxious, but it turned out that the people were as forthcoming and friendly as always. We will be back. Banu

Summary: We have recently returned from a two week stay at this lovely villa . I would totally agree with all the previous reviews as an accurate representation of the villa and surrounding area. There has been a huge amount of thought and hard work put into making this an ideal holiday rental by the charming owners. An information file has been provided in the villa which was invaluable. Mehmet, who was the local contact ,was very helpful and kind. He also has excellent restaurant recommendations and contacts for taxis, boat trips in surrounding area. Johan, the owner , provided us with excellent help and advice before we went on holiday and whilst there. A car is essential as the villa is at the top of a hill and you need transport to get to the supermarket and restaurants further afield. There are restaurants and small food shops walking distance from the villa . There are plenty of water sports and sailing available locally but we struggled to leave the beautiful pool area and gardens and terraces during the day. Very relaxing and private. I have no hesitation in recommending this villa.

Summary: the house is beautiful, every small detail in the design is a pleasure for the eyes. It is also a very easy house, the kitchen has everything you need, the swimming pool is the perfect size with a beautful view, you can walk to the beach from the house. and from what I saw from bodrum peninsula, that's probably the nicest house in the area. there are 2very nice ladies to welcome you and answer all your questions. Cleaning is done twice a week and this was just perfect. highly recommended.

Summary: We spent a week at this very nice and authentic home. The entire complex is built to very standards, the pool has amazing views. We adored the ambience, the garden is also very private and peaceful. We had an amazing time, and the owners are very helpful and responsive. You will need to have a car, but everything is quite close by. We highly recommend staying there.

Summary: Spent a wonderful week with friends in this villa. It is set within a stone village. At first you are worried that you won't have the same privacy as villas which stand apart in the traditional fully detached way. But the de Ruiter family's property is built into the walls and in such a way as to be above the other properties and you have uninterrupted views and feel incredibly independent. The house itself is cleverly designed across quite a few levels - so I felt that we could all escape one another which is important if travelling with friends or families! It was lovely, for example, to be able to choose different tables at which to have dinner - either informal in the pool side table, or formal on the other terrace, or cosy at the indoor dining table (useful if you're coming in Autumn) Johan the owner had loads of candle holders so we were able to decorate the terraces with atmospheric candlelight during the evenings :-) I loved being able to walk into the nearby village/town rather than having to rely on the car all the time. It helps to stave off the cabin fever that some people feel! Johan's notes and tips on local eateries was incredibly thoughtful - it makes staying somewhere new so much easier. Thank you so much for a wonderfully relaxing stay in your beautiful home. Skye

Summary: Villa Yarbasan was beautifully clean on our arrival - well equipped and easy to find from the directions. The house itself is a delight – cleverly designed and quirky. My favourite touch is the stained glass windows in the bedrooms which create beautiful multi-coloured lights around the beds when the sun shines through. But there are many special touches and we kept on discovering new ones throughout the week. Villa Yarbasan is set in a wonderful position high on a hill in a beautiful stone village which has been built with style and attention to detail. The property is not overlooked at any point and the wonderful gardens which surround every aspect of the house are well kept and surprisingly lush. The house is divided in two by a tiny cobbled street in such a way that the living room is positioned over the road with the fabulous pool and outside living area on one side and the rest of the house on the other. The decor is light and airy as you’ll see from the photos..... except in real life everything is even more impressive. There are several terraces which offer a different view throughout the day yet still keeping the sun (or if you prefer the shade). The air-conditioning was a real bonus considering that the temperatures were in the low to mid 40s the week of our stay. The situation of the village is perfect; close to the beach yet off the beaten track enough to hear nothing at night but the owls. We spent a fantastic week in Villa Yarsaban and are hoping to come back again soon if Johan the extremely accommodating landlord is able to fit us in. Do take advantage of this wonderful house!

Summary: What a fantastic house - we had the most wonderful week staying here. The setting is perfect, with views down to the bay and across to Kos, and despite it being hot in Turkey in August, there is a lovely cooling breeze most of the time making it very pleasant to sit out. The house is beautifully furnished and equipped, with everything you could want for a relaxing week away from home, and there is plenty of space to sit outside in a number of different areas, all equally pretty. The infinity pool is stunning - great views, a decent length for serious swimming and with a jet stream to make you work a bit harder! The village staff were incredibly warm and helpful, despite some language barriers, and the whole village is kept very clean and tidy. The location of the house is perfect for exploring the area, particularly the beaches with their waterside restaurants, and the city of Bodrum which is always buzzing with activity and colour. The owner provided excellent customer service, both before we arrived and during our visit - and clearly wanted to make sure that absolutely everything was working to our liking. All in all, we would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending the house to friends, and are determined to go back there ourselves before too long. A great holiday!

Summary: The 'Tunnel House', part of the traditionally built 'Stone Village' on slopes overlooking sea and islands is truly beautiful and proved an ideal location for four 'older' adults and two younger adults. The house itself is fascinating in layout on various levels, providing masses of space and with wonderful, evocative views in every direction. It is light and bright, clean and comfortable, very well equipped and the artistic and architectural flourishes are everywhere a delight. The various gardens, terraces and decks provide contrasting opportunities for relaxation and, if it's wanted, a bit of privacy. The infinity pool is especially beautiful and was an absolute essential in the heat of August. Everything is superbly maintained by very attentive village staff who are nevertheless friendly and discreet. The position of the house is perfect. The views are wonderful and the elevated position ensures a pleasant breeze. The other houses of the village are all distinctive but the design is such that there is no feeling of being overlooked by other properties. The location affords excellent opportunities for exploring the Bodrum peninsula and beyond. The local beach which has some excellent restaurants right beside the sea is a very manageable 20 minutes walk away. Throughout all stages, Johann was helpful, solicitous and courteous and he was able and willing to deal promptly with all eventualities. We would strongly recommend this property for anyone wanting a relaxing holiday in a peaceful yet evocative and memorable setting. We have rented properties in Europe and the USA and this was one of the very best.
