A charming wooden house in the heart of the Normandy bocage in the department of Orne near the 'Suisse Normande' flagship of the Normandy heritage 1h30 from Mont St Michel by car, 1h30 from the landing beaches, near Lake Rabodange and various canoe departures. Climbing possibility in Clécy sur Orne. 1 hectare of land surrounds the house located at the end of a very calm and peaceful dirt road. We can accommodate horses. A lot of walking possibilities nearby. Built with simple materials, it offers basic comfort but a very pleasant and bright atmosphere. A 2nd category river 150 m from the house allows fishing. Many horse clubs offer pretty horse rides in the bocage. Briouze train station, 5 km away, reaches Paris in 2 hours.

Summary: We (a family of five, all adults) loved our stay at this lovely holiday home. We had a lot of space, very cosy places to sit inside the house and outside, to read and chat. There was good equipment to cook dinners and so on. The area around the house itself was peaceful. It was also a good central location to explore inland Normandy. On the few rainy days we had it was nice to be in the hoise, we could use the fireplace.

Summary: Beautiful made home! Very nice owner (Daughter in this case), and good clear communication. Quiet and a lot off space, loved the surrounding of nature. The house has everything you need, and yes it is sometimes nice to have no TV or internet :) Just enjoy nature and the outdoors. Take your own sheets/sleepingbag and pillow whit you, it is more comfy.

Summary: the house was quite big. we were with 8 people but you can easily sleep here with 10 or 12 people. the kitchen was well equipped and the house had everything we needed. the garden around the house was huge, had a hammock and a very nice terrace. the owner was very welcoming and helpful. the surrounding area is beautiful and perfect for a walk. the city of briouze was about a 10 min drive and is perfect to get groceries and baguette in the morning. the city of Caen was a 1 and a half hour drive and the WWII museum is very impressive. lac de rabonges is a 15 min drive and is perfect to go canoeing. Overall: 10/10 we had a great time and would definitely recommend.

Summary: Our family of 4 adults and 4 children stayed here in august 2017 for 5 nights. it was the best place we have ever stayed! it is full of character, very user frendly and had everything we needed to make our stay 5 star. We loved the style of the building with all its quirkyness! We loved the stove in the living room ( so cosy) and the bedrooms in the old cottage upstairs made a wonderful den for our boys! the setting was amazing, beautiful orchard garden and lots of space for garden games and hide and seek! a great countyside setting, away from it all but really well positioned for day trips. We went to Cannes, Mont St Micheal, Normandy Beaches and natonal park forest for walks. The local town was friendly and the butchers shop was really good with fresh local meat and very helpful...( even with our not so good french!) To be honest it could not have been any more perfect, we loved our stay and will certainly book again! Kate Glen-Donald
