[COVID 19. While we are still affected by the Covid 19 pandemic we are following the guidance of local authorities on opening our property. As restrictions are lifted we look forward to reopening fully, but cannot guarantee that our description of available local activities will be accurate. We may also have to adapt our changeover arrangements to comply with regulations and will ask our clients to follow guidelines given. ]
For summer 2021, June to October, we are offering free "Multipass de Portes du Soleil" to our guests (max 6 passes). The Multipass allows free access to many of the summer activities in the 12 villages comprising the Portes du Soleil area - swimming, ski lifts, tennis, mini golf, museums, local buses etc and would normally cost €11 per day per person.
Chalet Arthur was built in 1989 as a family home. Its 3 bedrooms (1 double, 2 twins) together with 2 beds on a mezzanine floor provide excellent accomodation for up to 8 guests. The ground floor has 1 bedroom and an L shaped lounge with fireplace and a spacious dining area. Patio doors lead out to the small eating terrace and garden which adjoins the owners farmhouse and field. A new kitchen was installed in 2012 with oven, 4 ring induction hob, microwave, fridge, and dishwasher, everything you need. The ground floor has a shower room with basin, WC, and washing machine, while upstairs there is a bathroom with a large bath/shower, basin and WC. The Television, DVD player and some games are in the separate mezzanine lounge.
The chalet has a garage and off road parking for 2-3 cars.
We strive at all times to maintain and improve the chalet which has secured three star status in the new French system.
Winter Activities: The Portes du Soleil is one of the largest linked ski areas in the world. If that was not enough there are many other large resorts within 1 1/2 hours - Flaine, Verbier, Crans Montana , Argentiere etc. For beginners the village ski bus passes the door, but we recommend a car to profit from all the areas on your Portes Du Soleil skipass.
Summer Activities: There are hundreds of marked footpaths through the local Alps and mountains and Chatel has an impressive range of mountain bike routes accessible by the ski lifts.
Lake Geneva has shopping, beaches, lake excursions, thermal baths and innumerable summer festivals, such as the Montreux Jazz Festival.
Chalet Arthur has a large garden in which to relax and enjoy the mountain and forest views or have a BBQ. May and June are months which enjoy an explosion of summer flowers and colours.
Out of season: the pleasures of this valley are often as good in low season as in the busy holiday periods. The flowers can be at their best and the ski and walking routes are quieter. Local fetes are colourful and interesting and it can be cheaper both to travel here and stay here.

Summary: Beautiful area and lovely chalet (everything we needed). Very comfortable, warm and welcoming. We went to ski as a family and although the snow was sparse, it was enough for us. Arthur is in an ideal location. Peaceful yet conveniently placed for food shopping, skiing and villages, yet away from the hustle and bustle. Richard and Angela were perfect hosts. Lovely to meet them!

Summary: Our skiing trip/stay at Chalet Arthur was beyond expectations. The surroundings and the chalet are wonderful, even better than the pictures; the atmosphere, a warm authentic interior, a cosy fireplace... The chalet is amazingly well equipped and accommodating. At arrival, towels, bed linnen, washing up liquids, toiletpaper etc were available and even cleaning and laundry charge are included. There is a key box (you will receive a code) at the front door; late arrival was not a problem. Also very convenient, a big supermarket (±500m) towards Chatel, were you can buy everything. Richard the owner was extremely helpful. One of the us left his passport/credit card in a drawer; the next day he already send us a package! We highly recommend Chalet Arthur to everyone, thank you Richard for being the perfect host!

Summary: Chalet Arthur is a great place to stay for a summer holiday. We went for hikes in the mountains (up by lift), bike tours (e-bikes), cultural tours (Evian, Lac Lemand). Richard, the owner, gave us many good tips. The chalet is very comfortable and cosy and clean, and has a quiet and beautiful surrounding. We recommend this chalet to everyone who likes the mountains!

Summary: A very welcoming and warm cosy Chalet, with the owners being very helpful indeed. The kitchen is well equipped (unlike some other properties) and was appropriate for the max number of guests allowed. The owners were also very accommodating with our two small terriers. Very close to the ski bus stop and some beautiful walks on the nordic ski tracks. Thoroughly recommended for both Winter and Summer.

Summary: We really enjoyed the place. The house gives a real feel of living in the region with lots of authentic features. It is very well equipped. The owner, Richard was very helpful and did guide us to the best places to visit. Will highly recommend this place for a holiday.
