Positive: Beautiful property nestled in a local neighborhood overlooking the ocean in the distance. We loved the abundance of plants, flowers, and the amount of spots to sit and enjoy. It was a less than 10 minute drive to Hilo which was perfect for us and a great home base to explore both Volcano National Park and Mauna Kea area. Host was friendly and explained everything in detail. Everything was spotless clean. Bed was very comfortable and air conditioning a major plus. A beautiful local place to stay!
Negative: Carpets in the room. Rather have tile or floors.

Positive: The bed is a sleep number and very comfortable. It’s a beautiful more private accommodation than a hotel. More like an airbnb. Enjoyed the beauty of the property and lanai. Lanai you have your own section but if others are there they would Be next to you. That didn’t happen to us. The owners live on property. Town is a straight shot down a road driving for 5 mins. Hilo is a nice place for a short visit.
Negative: Pool was above ground pool. There were a lot of rules to familiarize yourself with and not everyone is capable of dealing with so many rules. Needed to give one day advance notice to use laundry facilities, that’s a hard one. The hot tub had a cover to take off and mechanics and my spouse is an anxious person who doesn’t want to break things. We thought there would be a kitchenette type of area but it was just fridge and microwave availability. Awkward to grill on a bbq and then wash items in a bathroom sink.was fine for us in the end with our short stay.

Negative: this is not “luxury,” nor a resort. we spent more on this place than anywhere else but it was very average. fine, but absolutely not luxury or worth the extra money- the above ground pool was dirty and I got chastised for going down the water slide - there was no signage saying not to use the water slide, I was well under the weight limit, and it was weird because we then felt like the host had been watching us at the pool.
