Summary: It was a pleasant stay for a very basic hotel. My only issue is our room was not like it is shown in the photo. The walls are painted very dark and the bedding is also dark which meant the whole feel of the room was gloomy. I am one that loves light so I found this difficult after expecting a light and airy room as in the photos. My communication rating is low because I emailed the hotel a couple of weeks before we travelled as I was concerned that our booking wasn’t confirmed as we had not paid yet the paperwork said pay,ent due in December when we booked. After we checked in, payment was not mentioned and my card was charged automatically. Had they mentioned that this would happen I would have asked to pay cash. I expected to pay when we checked out.

Summary: Ivey House has character and charm; our room was neat, clean, and comfortable and everything worked well. We really appreciated how friendly and helpful all the staff were, from the front desk to housekeeping—we only needed a room for one night, but I would have been happy to stay longer!

Summary: We stayed at this hotel which was a VERY convenient walking distance to many of the things we wanted to do- including meeting up at a boat-captain's dock for a fishing trip, reserving an air-boat tour through the mangroves, and enjoying some local fare at fun outdoor cafes. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, and we would recommend the Ivey House to others!
