Positive: We loved the idealism and the caring ethos of Jambavan with its emphasis on the environment, art and welcoming guests. The room and shared facilities were all spotless, cool and comfortable. There is a large roof terrace where you're surrounded by the tree canopy and a balcony off the living room which is shady and breezy. The hosts Avneeth and Anvena are incredibly kind and friendly and speak perfect English. We enjoyed making friends with their family of cats 🐈‍⬛ It was fun having art materials in our room to encourage some sketching.
Negative: For an "elderly" couple like us (57 & 66) the beds were a tad hard - but not atypical for India

Positive: This is a cozy little home away from home, located at a quaint location far enough from the cliff crowds to have some privacy whilst still being accessible. The place itself exudes this peaceful energy and the artwork in and around my room elevated the vibe of the place giving it a very attractive crafty feel to hit just the right mental notes. It's quite different from the other places I stayed in Varkala and I was so glad to have found it. A huge shoutout to the very warm and loving hosts, Avneeth and Anvitha, whose brainchild is this place. They've done an exquisite job with the terrace where I used to do surya namaskars everyday. I was fortunate enough to get a creative session of making Mandala art from Avneeth who made the whole process very humble to otherwise what appears to be a complicated artform. I ended up buying one of his art pieces and this is my first ever art purchase!!!. My conversations with Anvitha were incredible, something that I'm taking home with me to cherish. She also offered some homemade cake which was yum! I feel we need more Jambavans in the world and until then, this shall be my place of return when I am in Varkala next.

Positive: Staying at Jambavan Arts Collective and Homestay in Varkala turned out to be one of the most nourishing experiences for me, this year. A friend very highly recommended this place for my visit to Varkala and I must say I was not disappointed at all. The whole space is designed like a creative oasis where you can rest, relax and be inspired to channel your inherent creativity. Its peaceful and quiet here. You wake up to the sounds of birds singing and sleep to the sounds of owls and crickets creating musical symphonies. Coming from hectic Mumbai, this place felt like a safe haven where I could take it easy and follow my creative pursuits at my own pace. There is strong WiFi, good connectivity to the beach, autos on call & multiple spaces within the property to chill in & and relax. They have a great collection of Art Materials of many different kinds, musical instruments, books to read, board games to play with. Every corner of the space will strike inspiration in your heart and urge you to be playful and curious about life. I particularly enjoyed my private art session with Anvita, the Expressive Arts Therapy session with her was both profound and gentle at the same time. I am very happy to write this review but as I write it, I am realising that to truly understand the uniqueness of this place, one needs to come and stay here and experience it first hand. Words can't do justice. I myself, wish to return here a few times in a year and get my dose of inspiration and rest. Thank you Anvita and Avneeth for creating such a beautiful home away from home. I will be seeing you again soon! ☺️🌈🫂

Positive: What a refreshing experience this was! It has been on my bucket list to come and stay at Jambavan Arts Collective & Homestay & it finally happened. From the quietude, to the inspiring artistic ambiance, to the much needed transition from hectic city life to quiet and peaceful, vibes of this place - Jambavan Arts offered me exactly that which my soul was seeking. After 2 days of fabulous sleep, I stepped on to their terrace space designed for musical explorations and found myself creating new electronic music after months of procrastination. Big shoutout to the time spent with the hosts and thank you for such fun and warmth. Avneeth I am a big fan of your ginger lemon tea. I hope I can replicate it back home. :) Be sure to ask about their private art and sound bath sessions. They will be completely worth your time. While I was here, it rained generously and it made the environment all the more beautiful. I only stepped out of Jambavan Arts on my 3rd day to go to the beach. It feels so cozy inside this space that you wouldn't want to leave at all! Frida the cat and her 3 kittens are also permanent residents of this space. I absolutely loved spending time with them. They are ridiculously entertaining! Phew! What a fantastic and rejuvenating experience this has been. I think I will be returning here soon. I highly highly recommend staying here on your visit to Varkala. You will leave much richer and fuller! 💕

Positive: tranquil clean accommodation with a relaxing feel, and really helpful hosts.I felt safe and at home its an interesting set up and I think it's a suitable location from the beach a short walk or rickshaw. Reasonably priced.I liked the ethics of the place

Positive: I really enjoyed my stay there. I’ve spent three nights it was very clean, comfortable and the owners are ready to help any time. This place is very peaceful and we can feel their passion for art. Art is everywhere it makes the place so unique and they also apply the art of living. I highly recommend this place for a peaceful stay ☀️ They also organize workshop and I was very happy to join them for two classes. I could write more and more but it’s not easy to describe a feeling so my best advice is go there and feel the vibe 😊
