Positive: This hotel was the pearl of our trip due to its coziness and atmosphere. The owner of the hotel and his family did everything to make our stay there unforgettable. Delicious home-cooked food, clean comfortable rooms, calm atmosphere, landscape design, everything was great. The organized excursion from the hotel to the beach of Sukamade, where turtles lay their eggs - it was the best adventure of the whole trip.

Positive: Super calm destination, relaxing ambience, next to coastline, trip to Sukamade beach to see big sea (green turtle) turtle worth vising this lovely place and particularly this lodge. Very well maintained, breakfast is good. The lodge is located far from city in quite countryside, it is precious feature of that place for busy Indonesia. They also offer dinner which is quite good and you may ask for lunch as well (Pisang goreng / fried banana was excellent here and coconut which is growing right in front of your villa and dragon fruit behind the fence). We definitely want to come again and experience a jungle trip to turtle beach one more time. Nice staff and the place is tranquil. Unforgettable memories left after this lodge and turtle trip

Positive: We spent 5 days here and enjoyed it! The garden is phantastic and the whole premise is so nicely arranged. Breakfast and dinners were delicious and every day with nice variations of different vegetables abd fresh fruits from garden next door. The beach and jungle is great Staff and owner make this place absolutely special

Positive: We loved our stay at Turtle Lodge. The overnight turtle trip is so well organised, fun and informative. Releasing the baby turtles and seeing the female laying the eggs was incredible and a real bucket list moment. Our guide, Ocha, was incredible. Smiley, patient, knowledgeable and kind. Our first female guide in Indonesia (!) and she was brilliant - she answered every question with enthusiasm, and in perfect English too! The accomodation for the overnight trip is basic (no aircon) but so worth it. The lodge itself is comfortable, clean and has a brilliant team behind it willing to help with every need. The surrounding beaches are beautiful and Hadi is happy to give you a lift. I'd love to go back!
Negative: Naturally, the location of the lodge is quite remote in a tiny village, right on the edge of the national park. Take some snacks with you!

Positive: Hadi and the team were fantastic hosts - very welcoming and friendly. He even went out at 11 pm by jeep to saw up a tree that had fallen across the track in the National Park so that we would be able to get to Sukamade and do the turtle release early in the morning as planned. He told us lots about the local area. We also loved seeing coconut sap being processed and finding dragonfruit flowers at night. Java Turtle Lodge itself was well organised, clean and the food was delicious.
Negative: We liked everything! However, some information in advance about the options and costs for turtle trips (observations, release, with or without overnight stay at Sukamade, with or without Green bay trip etc) would have been helpful in advance - we would have added a day here to our itinerary if we had known all the timings. Having planned in a hurry and not done our homework, we thought the turtles were in the same bay as Java Turtle Lodge.
