Summary: The house is in great location minutes from the Harbour in La Flotte One of the reasons we booked the property was that it had a garage . Unfortunately we were unable to access the garage as the electric door was broken. We had to contact the key holder to gain access which was not expected and we had to wait for an hour when the temp was 40Deg C not a good start We did not ask about bedding which was an issue as none was supplied but I accept that was failing on our part but I would suggest that it is made clear on the webpage The garden was overgrown and would have been unsuitable for children to play on. The outside dining table was in the garage, we had to set up ourselves which we did not expect to have to do considering the money we had paid for the property rental. The barbecue on the web page did not look like the barbecue in the garage which we decided not to set up or clean. There was only one sun lounger and the other garden chairs did not look strong enough to use . We had to set up the sun umbrella which had one of the canopy supports missing The light in the downstairs bathroom was hanging on the wires out of the ceiling We choose to leave the property the Tuesday of the first week as we were not enjoying our holiday. These issues detracted from the potential of this property being a great place for a holiday

Summary: Great location, very atmospheric lanes and alleyways, an old house which has been renovated. Close to all amenities, the village, port, beaches, supermarket, bakery. Bedrooms and bathrooms very nice, kitchen area too small and difficult to cook in. Crockery and cutlery should be stored in kitchen area for easy use not in cabinets in the dining area. Living area quite small for a large group of people. The garden area was good . The house was not as clean as expected, floor in kitchen/dining area not clean, a lot of dust under the bed in the downstairs bedroom. Open out of date food items were left in the kitchen storage when we arrived and one unused item best before 2021. These should not be there. As you charge €180 for cleaning, I would expect a higher standard. Some light fittings were hanging from the ceiling in the ground floor bathroom and bedroom, these should be repaired. Please oil the door locks and hinges and label the keys properly. For the cost of renting this house I would expect a much better, even a separate kitchen and a bigger living area. I have rented a number of houses in Ile de Ré and have got a higher standard for a lower cost. A welcome instruction manual is also essential when renting a house . Other than that we enjoyed our visit here. La Flotte is a very beautiful place.

Summary: We have had a great stay in La Flotte. Well equipped house in fantastic location. Can’t fault property. Only suggestion would be to put fake turf down. Would be cleaner and nicer to play on. A key box and a welcome pack on area with current shows would be beneficial.
