Positive: From the moment we arrived, this felt like an authentic Albanian experience. The staff were absolutely magnificent—warm, generous, attentive, and a wonderful reflection of the hospitality Albania is so proud of. The property itself is beautiful, new, exceptionally well maintained, and surrounded by incredible nature. Having direct access to the pristine river just in front of the hotel made the setting even more special. The restaurant was another highlight; the food was excellent and added greatly to the overall experience. The location is also very convenient for exploring the main attractions of the area. A car is definitely recommended, but everything is within a reasonable drive. Between the mountains, river, history, and local culture, this is an incredible part of Albania to experience. More than simply a place to stay, KayakHotel gave us a genuine taste of Albanian hospitality and the character of this beautiful region. We spent eight nights here and would gladly return. I'm already looking forward to our next visit.
Summary: Authentic Albanian hospitality in an incredible setting

Positive: The location is magical!! A quiet place next to Shala river with no people around, we loved it here so much. Excellent Albanian style breakfast and very friendly and helpful staff. Everything in the hotel is new and very clean.
Negative: The hotel is located in a super beautiful place but to reach it you need to be prepared to drive ~6km of unpaved road, it is doable but might not be ideal, depending on your car. Also, the rooms are smaller than described, ours was definitely smaller than 35 square meters and had two single beds while the description mentioned a double bed. Just fix the descriptions and everything will be perfect.
Summary: Magical place next to Shala river!!!

Positive: Kayak was the most wonderful stay. We did two nights here. It’s tucked away off the main road but this made it even more serene and special. The staff were so kind and helpful, they cooked wonderful breakfasts in the mornings and delicious food off the menu in the evening. The place is new and well equipped with everything you need. Gorgeous views of the river and mountains and you can easily do the Blue Eye from here, we chose to walk all the way but you could drive part of it too. I would definitely recommend here. Thank you 🤩

Positive: Clean, newly built hotel. Good room with spacious and functional bathroom and comfortable bed. Location is kind of out there but the views are beautiful and the river flows right next to the hotel. The food was exceptional! Dinner at the restaurant was delicious and breakfast was very versatile and tasty. Probably the best breakfast we’ve had in Albania.
Negative: People smoking in the restaurant and lobby, so hallways sometimes smelled like tobacco. Room and outside seating areas were fresh so not a major issue.
