Negative: No food on Monday. Very little food in the area (for many miles) on a Monday either. Not good for a four star country house hotel with a large restaurant and well-known chef.

Positive: Attractive setting and grounds and welcoming adjacent restaurant, doubling as a reception check in. Large bed and good bathroom. Best full English breakfast i’ve ever had, in any hotel, anywhere. Vegetarian full English also excellent. Friendly staff but perhaps not enough of them. In context, very good value for money.
Negative: Rooms (in the grange building) were rather gloomy and decor a bit tired. Although there is a small reception desk in the old grange, it is unmanned and gives the place a rather neglected impression. As such the building (unlocked front door) and rooms didn’t feel very secure. The guest sitting room (although lovely to have) had uncleared coffee cups etc all day and without a lit fire felt sad and unwelcoming. Communication with hotel prior to arrival very poor with no response to two messages sent - nor any confirmation from hotel itself of the actual booking. Shower gel went unreplenished for entire stay. Overall, the place feels in need of some tlc and a few adjustments would make a big difference.
Summary: Some shortcomings but even so, excellent value for money.

Positive: The location (very rural and beautiful), the cottage rooms, the restaurant, the ambience.
Negative: We have stayed at Kentisbury Grange four times. This time, despite being very pleasant, the standard of room maintenance was not as good as in the past. Also, the restaurant menu was not as broad or interesting as in the past.

Positive: Comfortable bed, and luxurious bath in the bathroom. Jacuzzi was lovely with a nice view. Good breakfast with vegan accommodations.
Negative: Staff on-site didn't seem that knowledgeable and couldn't answer our questions about the room, breakfast etc. Shower drain seems blocked so water quickly overflowed.

Positive: Room was spacious enough and the large bathroom had a very good walk-in shower. Staff and food were excellent.
Negative: The location of the site is on the A39 and anyone wishing to have a walk or run off-site has to take a traffic risk on a main road without a footpath. Although we understand and accept that dog owners aren’t going to be given the best rooms (albeit no complaint about the room), I would have thought the carpet would have been vacuumed at least once in a 5 night stay. After 3 nights, I had to pick up the dry cut grass etc brought in by us after walking the dog around the site in the mornings and evenings.
Summary: Food, staff and room facilities very good but location on A39 without footpath not good for off-site walking or/and
