Kingfisher Lodge is equipped with everything you need for a luxury self-catered holiday. It is beautiful furnished, including a four poster bed and a roll-top bath to the en-suite so it is perfect for couples looking for a peaceful, romantic retreat.
Equally, as the lodge is very spacious, and has ample storage its great for families looking for a longer break. Hollicarrs is ideally located for you to be able to explore all of what Yorkshire has to offer.
The lodge has stunning views over the wildlife ponds, and into the woodland beyond. There is a sunken hot tub on the decking, perfectly positioned to make the best of the views.
Hollicarrs is a quiet rural park, perfect for couples and families looking for a peaceful retreat. We do not accommodate Stag or Hen parties. Please do not book with us if you prefer wild nights to wildlife!

Walking
There are nature trails in abundance at Hollicarrs. Whether you are looking for a gentle stroll, or a more energetic walk over a longer distance, walking trails have been carefully carved out among the trees around the lodge park, leading you through bluebell dells, primrose banks, past our bird hide to spot the wildlife and natural ponds teaming with life.
If you prefer to cover a couple of miles, why not walk through the woods to Skipwith Common Nature Reserve, a site of special scientific interest. This route takes you past the lovely Norman Church in Skipwith and the Drovers Arms is only a slight detour.
Tennis
The hard tennis court is flood lit enabling play throughout the year.
Fishing
The fishing lake at Hollicarrs is within easy walking distance of the lodge park and provides a sheltered, well stocked lake. Fishing platforms have been designed around the area for easy access including disabled areas for wheelchair users.
Bowling Green
A well maintained grass green for expert or beginners play.

Summary: Peaceful location, surrounded in nature. Top class lodge accommodation, beautifully presented and equipped to a very high standard. All staff on the park were very warm, welcoming and helpful without interference.

Summary: The size of the lodge was perfect for a family of 4 and the hot tub made it extra special. The showers were powerful, the beds comfortable, a lovely large dining table and a perfect kitchen. It is also in a great location to get to York City centre.

Summary: The lodge was perfect, such a nice place to stay for a few nights and so close to York, but so peaceful. The hot tub was also huge, I think an 8 person tub, managed to get a perfect position for looking up at the stars. Hollicarrs was also a lovely place to be, wonderful walks in the woods, managed to see a couple of deer roaming. The staff in Reception were lovely and answered all our questions.

Summary: This was our 1st time staying at the Hollicarrs and it didn’t disappoint. We stayed in the Kingfisher lodge for 6 nights and it was out of this world, the perfect lodge for a romantic and relaxing holiday. Everything was thought off and we didn’t need anything. The hot tub was great especially on a night so peaceful. The two bathrooms were a bonus we had his and hers showers. We will definitely return for our mini moon in 2026 if not sooner. Thanks for helping us make some lovely memories.
