Luxuriate in the outdoor bath with bubbly and beau - serenaded by frogs and native birds - explore the organic orchards and fields; admire the whimsical artwork; recline beside the pond; feed the tame sheep; cruise on our cycles on the Great Taste Trail to local wineries, cafes, artisans, beaches. Wander our open spaces, enjoying the birdlife and bush. Enjoy delicious citrus and fruit after a farm walk or along country lanes. Kissing Gate has a 2-person glass shower, a full kitchen and dining - and of course beautifully appointed Ruby and the Outlander Cabin. Ruby exudes elegant luxuriance and has a super-comfortable queen bed. The large Cabin has a king bed, couch and beautiful accoutrements and overlooks the lake. Winter is a speciality with electric blankets, heaters and TWO fireplaces - under starry skies or in the cottage. Kissing Gate is in cycling heaven amongst quiet country roads winding through olive groves and vineyards. Catch the ferry to Rabbit Island. Ride 2km to Mapua seaside village with its cafes, artisans, craft brewery, live music, and stunning inlet. Nelson and Abel Tasman National Park are 30 minutes away. "Thank you so much for your hospitality - Kissing Gate was the best place we stayed in the Sth Island for our honeymoon! You were both so sweet and welcoming! You've created a wonderfully unique and charming slice of heaven here in Mapua. We enjoyed our bottle of champagne in every little hangout spot you created here - cheers! We loved making breakfast in the kitchen, listening to the birds and the frogs. We made a fire both nights and took a bath under the stars - it was magical. We had a blast cycling through the countryside and tasting wines along the way. Our favourite was Neudorf Winery ... WOW" CandJ

Summary: This was a lovely place with many special touches like chocolate hearts on the bed and warm robes. I enjoyed a bubble bath in the outside tub which was a first and very special! Loved feeding the lambs and picking fruit in the orchard. All the heart and hard work that you put into this lovely place is so appreciated! Such a wonderful experience! Thanks so much! ♥️

Summary: This is a fantastic concept for a bach - a collection of interesting buildings that collectively form your own community! Peaceful and beautiful , the outside bath was magical and the cosiness of the caravan meant getting up at all was difficult. Very cleverly curated by the owners and the surrounding area is stunning also. We highly recommend !

Summary: Kissing Gate is like an enclave within another property, but it is completely private from the other accommodation options on the property. Kissing Gate has been created with an incredible amount of love and care, and the attention to detail is quite extraordinary. Perhaps the biggest compliment is that we changed our plans and instead of spending the day away from the property we choose to stay inside Kissing Gate and enjoy all of the features that have been created, including the outdoor bath.

Summary: It's so relaxing cooking in the cute little kitchen, sitting by the fireplace & looking up at the stars. The favourite was the bath on the deck overlooking the pond. The bedroom caravan was so cozy & warm. Ruby caravan was great for reading books. Really good shower. Enjoyed picking some fruit in the orchard, also yummy eggs. It's very private & you feel like you're in your own little world.
