Positive: A beautiful, clean house in a very quiet little village. Some lovely added extras to make us comfortable, including leaving some food for breakfast.

Negative: We were there in the summer and it was very hot in the afternoons even with the fan provided.

Positive: My wife and are walking the VDLP. This place was perfect. Warm, quiet, very comfortable, easy check in. Everything was new. The bar a few minutes away welcomed us, and even prepared a dinner for us because the restaurant was closed.

Positive: This is a great alternative to the albergues. Double bed and two single beds. So for four people it is great value. We were two guests and very pleased. Shower is good and kitchen is well equipped with all mod cons. Tabara about 5km away. I bar and I restaurant but both welcoming especially the bar - all friendly

Negative: We were happy with it all as accommodation is sparse in this area but for some it might be a little isolated and quiet, but can't believe you would be like this if you are looking at this area

Positive: The house has recently been totally reformed and has been finished and furnished to a high standard. The house actually has 2 bedroooms but as a single person renting the complete house I only used the main bedroom, in which the bed was extremely coomfortable. The kitchen and bathrooms are well equipped and, to cope with cold nights, there are electric heaters throughout the property. In the (very quiet) village there are 2 bars, one of which serves a menu del día and has owners who are extremely accommodating and helpful. For an overnight stop on the Via de la Plata this house has everything that 1 to 4 peregrinos could possibly need. Apart from one telephone call to obtain the code for the key lock box and to request the location of the bars in the village I had no contact with the owners so cannot really comment on them.

Negative: Although not a complaint, a slight irritant was that I had to wait a little while for a response from the owners to my telephone call for access to the house. The contact telephone number listed on Booking.com went staright to an answering machine and a while later I received a reply from a different telephone number to give me the code for the lock box to let myself into the house. Fortunately, as I was expecting a call, I answered the unknown number but as I would not normally answer a call from an unknown number this could have been a problem.

Summary: Excellent overnight accommodation on the Via de La Plata.
