What Our Guests say 500 + Reviews

Reviewer Type: Family With Children
Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: Spacious Property: The villa is generously sized, making it suitable for families or larger groups. Smooth Check-In: The check-in was handled by a third-party contact who was professional and helpful but too many things to review like 5 pages of all details of the house. Clear Organization: The property is very structured, with detailed documentation about how things work and how to use the space, which may appeal to some guests who like clear rules. Good Location for Sun: The area gets a lot of sunshine, and the outdoor space is a pleasant setting to enjoy it.
Negative: Areas for Improvement: Misleading Rating: The villa is listed as a five-star property, but in our view, it feels closer to a four-star standard. The décor is quite dated and lacks charm. A refresh could help align the property with its rating. Basic Supplies Not Provided: Guests should be prepared to purchase all basics themselves—there were no cooking staples (like oil etc) or cleaning supplies (such as dish soap). Would be appreciated to have basics kit it would be a helpful addition for convenience. Very Strict Rules & Formal Atmosphere: The tone of the stay was highly formal and 'cold'. There's a €750 security deposit and a multi-page rulebook and checklist that covers everything down to minor kitchen items. This can feel a bit rigid and doesn't foster a very relaxed vacation vibe. Limited Flexibility: The host asked us to check out 30 minutes earlier than the stated time, which felt unnecessarily strict, especially without prior notice or a specific reason knowing we used only 2/3 rooms and left the house super clean. Household Issues: We encountered an ant problem throughout the stay (kitchen, living room, bedrooms), which the owner acknowledged was an ongoing issue. Unfortunately, there was no guidance provided on how to deal with it, so we had to manage it ourselves daily with products and vacuum. While this is not a super big issue, it is worth knowing. We also noticed noises in the walls and ceiling, and eventually discovered a small animal (likely a rodent or similar) had made its home in the garage ceiling. We informed the owner, but unfortunately no action was taken during our stay. This is not a big issue as the rodent didn't interact with us but it is worth knowing. Inconvenient Pool Rule: One rule that can be difficult for families was the ban on wearing sunscreen in the pool. While understandable from a maintenance perspective, it’s not very practical in a hot, sunny climate—especially for children.
Summary: The house is nice, the host should be less strict and nicer with the hosts. We didn't feel special.

Positive: The villa was large and had everything we needed including games, table-tennis and bar football. The pool was clean and perfect for cooling off and swimming. There were motorized sun canopies for shade. There was a washing machine and dryer. There are plenty of places to visit and the local village has events going on. There is a municipal swimming pool nearby.
Negative: We couldn't have a barbeque. This is due to the dry and hot weather and there is a ban in the region to prevent fires.
Summary: Perfect location and very high quality villa

Positive: We arrived in 40C+ heat which lasted the first of our two weeks, so it was a godsend having a lovely pool to spend hours in. Also air-conditioning in two of the bedrooms was a great boon. The whole building and surrounds are very thoughtfully and tastefully designed and superbly well equipped. Perfect for two grandparents, two parents and two children. Mejannes le Clap, a short stroll from the villa, is a serviceable centre for basics. While a short drive away through the magnificent countryside are stunningly pretty mediaeval hill-fort towns with attractive restaurants, markets etc. And all around lie the famous mountain ranges, rivers, gorges, caves and endless possibilities for walking, canoeing, riding etc. What else could you want?
Negative: Nothing
Summary: A perfect place for a family holiday

Negative: The en-suite bathroom to main bedroom didn’t have a toilet, however there were 2 other toilets.
