Positive: Perched up on a hill, with large windows that were facing the gorgeous valley - this cabana was exactly what we needed for a weekend getaway, our first in Maramures. Big thanks to Maria and her family, who were such helpful and gracious hosts 👍 Note: The cabana really is quite remote and hard to get to, unless you drive a 4x4. Thankfully, Maria was nice enough to let our friends park their car on her property, and drive them up, including their dog.

Negative: They happened to work on the electric lines one of the days we were there. So we had no electricity or water, which then affected the hot water boiler for a couple of days, too. Let’s just say that it was a true wilderness experience for a bit 😄 Again, our hosts came up to fix it as quickly as they were able to.

Summary: Absolutely stunning views + wonderful hosts + a spacious, well equipped Cabana.

Positive: The cottage is located on a hill and it has an amazing view over Maramureş mountains, much better in real life than in the photos. There are no other houses around so it’s always quiet and nice, really great place to relax.

Negative: During the day when the sun is shining it’s quite difficult to sit outside or in the big kitchen because it gets too hot. Would be nice to have trees around to have some shadow.
