Positive: Very spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated in a modern style, with a private gated courtyard setting backing onto the forest with incredible views over the vineyards to Reims. The train station in Rilly-la-Montagne is a short (15 mins) walk away, as are many local champagne producers. A wonderful welcome from Sixtine and her family who produce their own amazing Tellier champagne which we tried and of course bought! We will definitely be back- this is a perfect property in a wonderful location for both exploring the local area and as a stop to/from the UK.

Negative: Nothing- everything was fabulous.

Summary: Amazing stay in a fantastic location. Can’t wait to return.

Its simplicity is supported by spotless cleanliness and the very cheerful and willing attitude of the hosts, who went out of their way to accommodate every one of my requests.

Positive: The host is AMAZING, so kind and accommodating! We were running terribly behind in check-in day and she was incredibly patient. Plus she prepared us bountiful breakfast baskets every morning that we didn’t stop raving about! The property is nicely-equipped, having a kitchenette is such a rarity! Plus, the location is amazing for those exploring throughout the Champagne region. We also enjoyed that it is private without feeling isolated. While this is not a 5* luxury stay, this is a great place for groups to have a comfortable home base during their trip.

Negative: We rented all of the rooms. The owner disclosed some yet to be repaired water damage in one room prior to arrival. She was incredibly transparent, which was much appreciated and we agreed to retain our booking as there was limited time to rebook. That said, the damage in that room appeared to grow what might have been mold throughout the stay. The guests staying in the room did not alert me until the last day, otherwise we may have considered moving elsewhere. Above all, I hope they move forward with the repairs before any other guests stay in the room. Additionally, there was a burgeoning ant problem in another room, which made it worrisome to leave the trash cans out daily. The presence of bug repellent in the room leads me to believe that this might be a known issue. Consider this stay more of a cabin and it’s easy to look beyond a few bugs.

Positive: A quiet, relaxing stay surrounded by vineyards. I loved the view from the bedroom vines, right across the road and the distant lights of Reims glittering at night. The breakfast basket on my doorstep in the morning was wonderful— Lots of choices, including fresh fruit. There was even enough to last for a picnic lunch in the woods.
