Positive: We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful cottage with huge private garden with lovely patio seating area. We liked to sit there in the evenings after sightseeing in the peacful surroundings. The walk in shower was great as was having Netflix and Prime Video on the tv. The owners Wendy and Philip are a lovely friendly couple . We hope to return to this little gem in the future.

Positive: We enjoyed our week stay at La Croix Douillet cottage. The views from the cottage were beautiful and so peaceful. The cottage was as described “cozy” which was perfect for us, moreover well-kept and very clean. The owners, Wendy and Philip were readily available if we needed support, which we appreciated – once again thank you. The town of Gavray-sur-Sienne was a 5-minute drive away and everything needed was there. We found the local hotel (De la Gare) served homecooked meals which were delicious (reservations needed). A special notation: everyone we met in this region were extremely friendly, kind and helpful which made our stay even more enjoyable.
Negative: The double bed was very firm perhaps a bed-topper would help. Also, I found on my side of the bed (door-side) was lopsided (wooden slats adjustment?).
Summary: Amazing holiday in a lovely cottage and beautiful region!

Positive: Quality of this level is a rare find. The smallish cottage is absolutely perfect for a family of four, those with two children happy to share an actually lovely plush bunkbed in one of the two bedrooms. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would easily seek Le Croix Douillet out again. The owners are terrific, they reached out to ensure we had everything we needed, it was v thoughtful and showed they cared both about the property and our stay in it. We greatly appreciated the contact.. The open plan kitchen/dining/living room could not be nicer. We loved the living room part with small two seat sofa and two additional plush loveseats facing the working fireplace, stocked with wood below and a thoughtfully placed basket of wood tinder, fire-starter bricks and matches beside it. The chilly evenings were ready made for a wonderful fire in the lovely fireplace, we couldn't help but make use of it, a wonderful touch to a wonderful property. The master bedroom is tastefully decorated, the second bedroom smallish but comfortable, given the bunk bed in it. The bathroom has (only) a modern, walk-in shower with a large rain-shower showerhead and separate hose shower handle. Note: there is no bath, but this adds to rather than detracts from the quality fit and finish, it couldn't be much nicer. The large yard/garden to the rear has a lovely tastefully done covered patio seating area, with an unobstructed view of the surrounding countryside, and there's a small swing-set and slide for those with children. Evenings here on the back patio are wonderful. This is an unusually lovely place, deserving both high marks - and your visit! :)
Negative: There would be very little upon which to improve. We did note that the WiFi did not work on the back patio seating area, and thus a simple range extender/booster would be a nice touch for an already terrific property.
