We offer 3 cottages (1x1 bed, and 2x2 bed ) which have been lovingly restored , with original features kept wherever possible and beautifully furnished to a high standard.
This listing is for cottage 3, a 1 bedroomed cottage. It offers a lovely open plan room with good sized well equipped kitchen, and a cosy inglenook fireplace with wood burner. It has a spacious mezzanine bedroom, with exposed beams and a lovely romantic four poster king size bed. There is also a day bed which can be used for one child. This is our most romantic cottage, ideal for a couple or a couple with young child.
The cottages are set in approximately 1 and half acres of their own grounds, with the front gardens landscaped and a lazy meandering path leading to the road, which is a stones throw from lake mondon (see below for amenities)
Our back garden has been transformed by a 10m x 5m in ground swimming pool (4ft deep) and sunbathing terrace, there are shingled outside areas for each cottage where hours can be spent relaxing and rejuvenating or reading a book, with a glass of wine under the shade of huge parasols.
For the slightly more adventurous, just a 2 minute walk away, opposite the lake is a communal swimming pool with waterslides. On the lake there are pedaloes for hire and in the peak season there are often donut boat rides. This site also offers tennis courts, basketball and volleyball courts and boules. (all these amenities for a nominal fee)
There are also many stunning wooded walks along the banks of the river la benaize, with waterfalls and prehistoric rocks (dolman), where you will find an abundance of wildlife.
For the fishing enthusiast a `carte de peche` can be purchased for a half / full day or weekly ticket.
There are two restaurants / bars overlooking lake mondon, both within a few minutes walk of our cottages.
There are local shops and supermarkets with a 5 miles radius, or for the larger supermarket there is la souterraine or st benoit.
Our cottages are approximately a 10 minute drive from junction 22 of the a20.

Summary: Lovely stay at La Grace. Peaceful and relaxing just what we wanted. The cottage had everything we needed and was decorated to a very high standard.

Summary: Gite was beautifully equipped and comfortable probably one of the best we have ever stayed in. Location was very quiet in June and the weather was very good and not to hot. The local lake and walks were very picturesce, however at this time of year most of the local villages were deserted and one gained the impression this area of rural France is slowly dieing. Apart from Odour sur glane and Limoges nothing major to see and do unless you travel over about 40 miles, great for a weeks retreat but any longer or bad weather you might struggle. But overall a great holiday for us.

Summary: Both myself and my husband loved this place. The 1 bedroom house from the three. As soon as we walked through the front door we felt at home. Jacqui and Stephen were there to greet us, take us through the house and answer any questions that we had, which made us feel very welcome. We both loved the character of the place and were very impressed with how they had renovated and to such a high standard. The shared pool was perfect for a cool down dip after being out during the day or before we went out. There is also a huge garden space to sit out in and under the shade of trees which is needed at times because the weather was hot. Everything we expected to be part of a holiday rental was there, even more from the hairdryer, straighteners, BBQ to French adapters to plug in our U.K. plugs. Even a shopping bag to take when we need to get groceries. With a small supermarket within 10 minutes and larger ones within a 20 minute drive. Whilst we were one of three houses together we loved the peacefulness we could get but also being able to chat and get to know our neighbours. Located near Lac du Mondon which was lovely in the evening to sit down by. The Lac has a lovely bar/restaurant which does amazing food. If you stay here then you need to try their fish and chips!!!! The best we have had ever and we have some pretty amazing fish and chips shops in Norfolk! Also very friendly staff. Would definitely recommend Les Trois Petite Masions for a couple, a family or even a couple of families together. Location was perfect for us as we could discover not only the Limousin but also parts of the Poitou-Charentes region of France. The welcome pack was just what was needed and very much appreciated. Just left for me to say thank you to Jacqui and Stephen for making such a beautiful and wonderful place to stay and the conversations we had about living in France with some very useful information.
