Positive: Wow, what a place! The setting, views, facilities and hospitality of Alexandros and his whole family was unrivalled. We stayed at la Serena as 2 families of 4, and all enjoyed it, and never got bored of the wonderful views from the balcony. We had plenty of space for the 4 teenage kids (who spent most of the time in the pool), whilst we could relax on the sofa's or bbq area. Even though its a little dar away for Rethymnon, taxis were easy (with Google maps, which for us, had no problem finding the villa) and meant we got the peaceful evenings away from all the hotels. Perfect! Thank you Alexandros, (and his mum and dad who lived on their adjoining house), for all the wonderful treats provided, and the hospitality shown to us. It was an unforgettable experience. If we are ever back in Chania, we'd sure be looking up this Villa again.

Positive: Everything. The views are stunning and the pool/bbq area is beautiful. Very well equipped kitchen with everything you need. The location was fantastic… you can walk to the beach (approx 15/20 mins) but it is still a secluded and peaceful location. Alexandros and his family couldn’t have been more accommodating and welcoming and had plenty of suggestions for good local restaurants and beaches. They also brought us home made olive oil, wine and even a freshly baked cake so we were very looked after. We absolutely loved our stay and we will definitely be back.

Positive: Wonderful villa with a central Crete location. The family is very welcoming, helpful and yet unobtrusive. Great views and fantastic design with four large bedrooms and many balconies to gather (or be alone and read). Can easily handle 3-4 couples, a large family etc. Good sized and fully equipped kitchen. Nearby some good hiking, historic caves and monasteries.
Negative: You will want a car and be comfortable driving on narrow European streets.
Summary: Great location for history, hiking and food - or some chilling by the pool. Wonderful hosts. Don’t hesitate.

Positive: We had a wonderful stay with Alexandros. The property was very comfortable and peaceful and had all the amenities that you would expect. With 4 bedrooms and three bathrooms offers very good value for money. There are a number of sitting and dining areas both inside and out. We really enjoyed using the pool table outside the house and we made good use of the garden area including the hammock! It was very relaxing listening to the sounds of nature in the countryside all around us. The views from the balconies are stunning. You can see the sea from one and the mountains from another. Alexandros' father, Manousos, was extremely helpful and friendly and always ready to answer any questions that we had. Alexandros responded to any messages almost immediately and was very kind and considerate. The location was perfect. You are a short drive away from Rethymno and the beach and there are supermarkets close by. You feel close to the tourist areas and in the middle of the countryside at the same time! The fully renovated Maisonette included everething we needed!! Unfortunately we had to leave but we will come again for sure!! Thank you very much for everything dear friends!!!
