Positive: La Villa Lauvray is a wonderful small boutique hotel located in a villa built in 1870 and beautifully renovated. Fred, the owner, is exceptionally friendly and helpful. He welcomed us with a glass of wine and recommended — and even booked — an excellent restaurant for dinner, about a 15-minute drive away. The villa is beautifully designed and combines paintings, works of art, and beautiful antique objects, all tastefully displayed throughout every corner. The villa’s garden is full of flowers and is a very pleasant place to relax. The view from our room was also amazing and overlooked the Seine River. Breakfast is wonderful and is served on a large wooden table in the villa’s dining room. The villa is an excellent choice for visiting Giverny and Claude Monet's House and Gardens.

Positive: Fred our host was so friendly and helpful. If I could give him 10 stars it wouldn’t be enough. He prepared us a fabulous breakfast and he couldn’t have been kinder or more generous with offering suggestions of things to do and see. Super nice guy! Great conversations!

Positive: I stayed at this property in early November, and I can honestly say it was the best place to stay. Fred and his wife were incredibly welcoming, kind, and attentive, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Their hospitality made me feel at home from the very first moment. The room was spotless, comfortable, and a great size perfect for relaxing after a long day. Everything was well-maintained and thoughtfully arranged, which showed how much care the hosts put into their place. I also appreciated the peaceful atmosphere and the overall coziness of the environment. I would love to return again one day. It’s the kind of place you remember, not only for the comfort, but also for the warmth of the people who run it. Highly recommended.

Positive: Fred and Nadia are great hosts. They are welcoming, warm, gracious and interesting. We greatly enjoyed our stay due to them as they are what is special about Villa Lauvray. The breakfast served each morning far exceeded our expectations. The charcuterie served the first evening at our request also far exceeded our expectations. Fred made dinner for us the second evening in place of charcuterie and it was excellent. The room was decorated in an interesting manner and fit our needs fine. Altogether, a wonderful place to stay in an almost forgotten village where Monet and Joan Mitchell both lived. We went due to this fact; and are so glad we did. If we are ever traveling near that area again we would stay at Villa Lauvray just to enjoy the experience again.

Negative: We cannot think of anything.

Positive: Just got back from an amazing stay at this hotel, and I can't recommend it enough! The hospitality was off the charts! A villa is so cozy and stylish. Everything was clean, comfy, and just perfect. The French breakfast was amazing, with fresh pastries and delicious coffee that made the morning perfect!

Positive: The home is just gorgeous and we loved hearing about its history. The host was very entertaining -- he greeted us with great beer and conversation. We had a choice between a couple of rooms which was really nice. The decor is wonderful - modern, eclectic artistic in a classically-beautiful French home. Our room had a very comfortable bed and the bathroom was spacious and attractive with fabulous shampoo and toiletries. We appreciate that he does not utilize single-use plastics. The breakfast was AMAZING - French style eggs, fresh bread, pastries, juice and coffee. It was the best we had in France. I hope we get to come back to this fabulous region, and to this home, for a longer stay some day.

Positive: 15 minute drive to Giverny. Small quiet town, but not much to do there. Host was amazing and he offered lots of good suggestions for places to see. Breakfast was amazing!

Negative: No shower curtain, some rooms had a strong smoke odor.
