Summary: Very cool design and they were helpful when I asked to change rooms. But be prepared for a party hotel, probably my fault for not realizing that. Even after moving rooms the noise was really loud late into the night but at least we didn't hear the bowling. My main issue was the amenities, they are

Summary: Overall, quite a disappointment for numerous reasons... check in not super friendly nor welcoming. I always find this to be the first impression and therefore an opportunity to set expectations. Every encounter with front desk staff was a bit miserable unfortunately. Most encounters with all of the restaurant and bar staff were great. Rooms are simply wow! Hands down one of the most impressive concepts I've exoerienced anywhere in the world. For this reason, we decided to stay another night. We asked The front desk if there was a room available for the following evening and they said no. We then went online and found one. A bit disappointing. Fortunately, though the digital concierge was able to allow us to stay in the same room, which was nice. Their rooms are definitely form over function. The attention to detail is impressive, but there are drawbacks such as not having any electrical outlets and also the bar at the end of the bed. Being 6 foot 7, it didn't make for a very good night sleep. Space in the room is very very tight but full of fun features and furnishings. Windows must be single pane, because you can hear even the leaves fluttering outside. I guess that's why they put complementary earplugs on the nightstand. 🙂‍↕️ We were also disappointed to come back to our room after being gone for six hours on the second day and nothing having been made up. We went to the front desk and were shocked when they told us they don't do housekeeping! I've never been to a

Summary: The hotel spaces are amazing. The 24 hour diner might be one of the best in SoCal. The tapas restaurant was stellar, and like all things at this hotel a lot for the eye to take in. The maximalism of the hotel & rooms might be too much for some, others will find this a utopia. Also best assortment of alcohol in the mini bar was probably ever regardless of the price. Not a party hotel by any means, but definitely on the younger side/energy. Overall a great stay in a very California hotel away from the hustle & bustle of downtown or gas lamp.

Summary: The area around the hotel is not great. We paid almost $500 for one night in a pool side room and found out that pool loungers are not included with the room. You can hear EVERYTHING while in the room. Neighbor showering, you can hear it, someone outside you’ll hear it. That’s why I am guessing they had earplugs on the night stand. The room and hotel itself are very poorly lit. When we were at the pool, my husband moved one of the umbrellas that was not lined with all the others and a waiter that was short with green hair came up to him screaming “don’t touch that! That’s how they get broken and it’s not fair to everyone else if you move the umbrella!” There was no one next to us and my husband it by far a small man that cannot use the wheels to move an umbrella that was crowding the patio area and if the guy must say something, there is a definite better way to say it. He was so rude and stormed off, didn’t even ask us if we wanted to order something. The female wait staff were a thousand times nicer than him. There was also a constant sewer smell by the pool that was super unpleasant. I have a feeling the building in general has plumbing problems. The hotel may have been renovated (mostly re-decorated) but the pool is the same as it was 15 years ago. Also be prepared to share your pool time with people buying pool passes but not actually staying there. Finding a chair to sit in is cut throat. The pool was crowded and dirty both days we were there.

Summary: Room was thankfully very quiet and pretty comfortable. Staff was very friendly. Location is excellent. Room could use a few more amenities: full-length mirror, coffee pot or pot to boil water, luggage rack, box of tissues. Diner is fun and central bar is pretty and lively. Pretty much a big party, but again, was happy to have gotten a quiet room.
