Summary: When the location of our annual stitching retreat was no longer available due to damage from Hurricane Helene we started searching frantically for a space that could accomodate our large group of 30. Ruth & Terry at Lagolinda Inn were very welcoming of our needs and even met up with us so we could preview the space before our event. The dining room was really not big enough for our group, but thankfully the weather cooperated and we were able to spill out onto the expanmsive porch. The bedrooms at the Inn are all thematic giving the feel of an old time British B&B. The upstairs large hallway has some great seating areas so our various crafting groups were able to gather in little nooks here and there. We only used the basement bunk room for a workshop and thought it might be difficult for tall adults to sleep in any of those top bunks! But it would be great for kids. Overall our group had a great experience. If our regular retreat site isn't available again we'll know where to go. One warning: the Inn is full of Christian imagery and sayings. We knew this going in and prepared our group which included a number of Jewish folks as well as queer young adults who have experienced harm from some Christian communities. Being at Lake Junaluska, an historic Christian resort area, it's likely to be expected - many youth & choir groups meet at the Inn. Just wanted to spell that out so anyone reserving the space sight unseen would be forewarned for whom that would be problematic.

Summary: From the moment we arrived Ted & Ruth were welcoming and very informative. They were both very responsive and even helped all of us unload our vehicles. There were 24 of us women so we appreciated that. The fridge went out 1 day after we got there and they brought in coolers, ice and done everything possible to insure our stay was still smooth. We were pretty easy going and realized this was not their fault but they worked very hard to make it right. We had a new fridge brought in the next day. Ruth even blessed us with one of her praise dances. The house was perfect, every lady was very happy with their own thermostat and bathroom. House was very clean and everything worked perfectly. There were plenty of dishes to use to cook with and several options with coffee pots. We were all very happy with this home and friendly service. Bless this couple and their beautiful home

Summary: The Lagoalinda Inn was the perfect spot for our retreat for our college students. They had the space they needed to do their sessions in the common space and plenty of room to spread out for sleeping arrangements. The location was awesome with activities right across the street and excursions and sights within walking distance! My only note is that the kitchen is a little small for cooking for 50 people— but doable with strategy! We enjoyed our stay and will be back!

Summary: We had our annual women's golf trip of 19 ladies. The property held all 19 ladies where we could gather in one room. The bedrooms where comfortable and enough beds for everyone to have their own beds. The AC worked perfect and the rental was well stocked, very, very clean. We needed to call the manager for one slight problem and he was their in minutes and resolved the problem. We HIGHLY recommend staying here and would certainly do so again. It is tough to please 19 ladies but all agreed this was an awesome place.

Summary: This was a perfect place for our family reunion! We all really enjoyed the property, especially the front for our family gatherings. A few things to consider: 1. Street out front is extremely busy, families with littles may appreciate knowing that up front. 2. Front steps are pretty steep, a bit challenging for elderly individuals. 3. Ad seems to indicate kayaks are included with the property. 4. Kayak entrance is a little more challenging to get to than just crossing the street. Thanks again for letting us stay, it was a fantastic time!

Summary: We stayed in Jan 2024. Went skiing nearby and to Biltmore, with 26 people. Inn was clean, well supplied, cozy, comfortable. Rooms have individually controlled heat and air which I liked. Rooms we used all had private bathrooms. Rooms were large enough. Good fire pit. Lots of space for entertaining upstairs, downstairs, inside and outside. Our group had a great time. Hosts were easy to communicate with and very helpful.

Summary: Our sorority stayed at this house for a retreat and it was such a great experience. The house was clean and comfortably accommodated 60 women. The house was clean and smelled great. The sheets/beds were all clean and comfortable. The kitchen is equipped with anything you may need! The hosts were kind and helpful the entire time. The area is perfect and there is a park right across the steeet with many different activities. The house is perfectly located and anything you’d need is 5-10minutes away. We had such a great weekend and could not recommend more.

Summary: It was a great set up for our large family reunion. Each individual family group could have their own room with separate bath. Large porch made a nice gathering space in the evening. Kitchen is a little small for a really large group, but it is workable with simple meals & there is a grill in the side yard, which helped. Plenty of activities in the Waynesville/Maggie Valley area plus the Blue Ridge Parkway, Pisgah National Forest, etc. for different small groups to explore and enjoy during the day. The location of the Inn across from the playground, tennis courts, pool & kayaking/paddle board rental was very convenient. The area around the Inn at the Lake is very safe to allow the tweens and teens to wander on their own for a little independence. We would stay here again.
