The BLACKLOG CORNER COTTAGE is a quaint little cottage that gets its name from an old school that used to sit on this corner way back in the day when kids walked "up hill" both ways to school with no shoes on in the dead of winter...... so that's how the old story goes. It also sits on the old road that went from Shelbyville to Vandalia back in the "dirt road" days. Today the corner's roads are called Co. Road 1000 North and Illinois State highway 128. It is also setting just 400 feet from the Pond Shore Lodge (listing 1351741) and The Pond Pavillion INN (listing 2769008) if you need additional lodging. There is a 10 day maximum stay.
The cottage is nestled among trees with a peaceful country setting. There's a patio, fire pit, and charcoal grill. It has ample parking for many vehicles, boats, and trailers and has a stocked fishing pond within walking distance from your door for your enjoyment. There is also parking at the pond so you can drive there if you would like to.

Summary: The cottage is cozy and exceptionally well maintained. Our stay was wonderful. Communication was very quick and clear. Proximity to Lake Shelbyville was great! The private catch & release fishing pond was an added bonus! Highly recommended.

Summary: The owner was so easy to communicate with and they made sure we had a wonderful stay. The rental was the cleanest one I have ever stayed in. The location was great. Zero complaints.

Summary: My family all camps at Lake Shelbyville. We don't have a camper and came across this house last minute. I cannot tell you how happy we were with the accomodations. We were about 2 minutes from Walmart and resturants, about 20 minutes from the family campground (only 7 miles) so location was perfect for us. The house was perfect size for 2 people and was nice and quiet. It was really cute and was immaculate. I clean for a VRBO and know what hard work that is and there is absolutely NOTHING I could complain about. Would definitely stay again. Also, I'm not typically a 5 star reviewer (nothing is perfect) but from the parking lot where we could park to the fire pit and chairs out back and how clean and nice everything was, I genuinely have no complaints.

Summary: Had a tournament at Shelbyville and found this little place just a short drive from town. Place is small but the perfect size for 2 guys for the weekend. Easy to find, very clean and the AC almost works too well. Driveway is large and very easy to back into with trailers. Had a great time and will be booking here next time I have a tournament at Shelbyville. -Greg
