Summary: The appartement was very clean, modern and overall complete. The balcony faces east and there is plenty of sun in the morning but on the end of the day when it's the highest temps you can sit in the shades and enjoy the beautiful view of lake Maggiore.

Summary: The place is modern and has everything you need to be self sufficient. The host is really great -- friendly and easy to communicate with, very accommodating, with lots of advice and recommendations in the local area. The view from inside and the balcony however, is what makes this place truly special. The pictures really do not do it justice. You're perched on a hillside well above the lake, and you're overlooking the lake and the mountains as a backdrop. The sky is stunning at sunrise and sunset from your view, and just sitting on your balcony and having a cup of coffee or glass of wine is pure zen. Glad we didn't stay in the town of Stresa (5 min drive), and rather stayed at the wonderful place.

Summary: We had a superb time visiting Stresa and the magical islands on Lake Maggiore. The views of the lake from our balcony were beautiful, the apartment was superb and the owners ,Dana and Guiseppe, were charming, helpful and efficient and they ensured that our stay was trouble free Stresa is a beautiful town set on the lakeside with all the facilities that a holiday maker could desire. It is only a 5/10 min drive into Stresa from the apartment (depending how fast you take the many hairpin bends!!) but don't worry its great fun! Dana recommended some local restaurants which we tried and enjoyed and we also ate in some of the restaurants in the centre of Stresa (Piazza Cadorna) and we didn't have a bad meal all holiday. We had no trouble finding a parking space (mainly in the car park at the ferry terminal) although I bet they get busy in August! A visit to Isola Bella and Isola Madre is a must, they are magical!! We have visited Lake Garda and Lake Como previously and thoroughly enjoyed both and now would also rank Lake Maggiore as one of our favourites.

Summary: We spent two weeks in this magnificent apartment. We loved the apartment and will stay there again if we are in the area. It is super clean and really well appointed, with modern decoration and plenty of space for the two of us. The view is magnificent, irrespective of the time of day or the weather. Our hosts were welcoming and immediately attended to a small matter that arose during the stay. A car is necessary to stay here but secure on site parking meant we virtually drove to our front door. There are restaurants nearby and the location is central for day trips to the north, south and west.

Summary: The owners of the flat are really friendly and helpful. A special thanks to I presume Dana, who left the delicious cookies in the flat. We ate them all and went to buy more. :-) The flat is spacious, international TV channels (SKY), the bathroom has a big shower and lots of space for everything. The kitchen is modern too, though it could use a big pot for boiling pasta, a few small metal bowels etc and a dishwashing machine or lazy visitors. As we never cooked, we didn't miss it too much. The flat has heating and an air conditioner. We had a bit of bad luck with the weather, it was really foggy so we couldn't really go hiking as we planned to and couldn't see the great view from the balcony. However, when the fog then cleared up after Day 6 of 7, we were rewarded with a spectacular view. I hope we have better luck with the weather next time we come.

Summary: This was our first experience of the Italian Lakes and the apartment had superb views over Lake Maggiore. Both Dana & Guiseppe were welcoming and helpful. The apartment was equipped with most items and nicely furnished. The only real caution I would mention is that if two couples were sharing this one bedroomed apartment there is only one two seater sofa ( doubles as the second double bed ) which would have been quite insufficient if we had, as originally planned, holidayed with our friends. For two people however it was fine.
