This newly updated, 1600 square foot, year-round cottage has a beautiful waterfront view, with a clean shore perfect for swimming and water sports. With a south-east exposure, enjoy beautiful sunrises and all-day sunshine with enough shade to find restful spots.
This cottage resides on beautiful Lake Simcoe, on a quiet tree-lined point (dead-end) with little traffic. Conveniently located in Orillia, you are minutes away from all amenities but feel you are a world away in cottage country. Truly the best of both worlds. Orillia offers experiences and activities for any season: waterfront trails, excellent local dining, boutique and big-box store shopping, nearby golf courses, hiking trails, ski hills, and frozen lakes for outdoor winter activities.
Cottage Includes:
Paddle board, 2 kayaks, life jackets, water floaties, yard games, outdoor firepit, outdoor covered seating area, lots of outdoor seating, gas BBQ, gas stove, 2 refrigerators, gas fireplace, washer & dryer, water cooler, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, blender, kitchen supplies, Wi-Fi, 2 Smart TVs, DVD Player (150+ DVDs), Wii (20+ Wii games), Atari console and games, board games, 3 Queen beds (bedding included), 2 full baths (towels included).
Note: Lake is clear with a smooth rocky bottom and gradual shallow entry. As a result, water shoes are recommended.
Main Rules:
No pets; no smoking; 1 large garbage bag limit (additional garbage bags must be taken with you) but unlimited recycling; no excessive noise past 11pm. Maximum of 6 guests (children 0-2 years old do not count toward total).

Summary: We enjoyed our stay at a "Little Piece of Heyden"! In the area for a family wedding, this lakefront location provided the perfect spot to enjoy morning swims, paddle boarding, kayaking and serene lake views! Appreciate the detailed check-in/check-out information and timely communication with hosts. So glad we chose this Orillia property- just wish it was closer to where we live!

Summary: We’re a retired couple that wanted a quiet get away from city life. We found exactly that at a “little piece of Heyden”. We spent three wonderful weeks at this awesome cottage which was well equipped. The view of the lake was breathtaking. The numerous decks had lots of shade and where we BBQ’d regularly. The host responded to texts promptly and was very accommodating. We look forward to returning in the future.

Summary: We had such a great time at this beautiful property. Everything was incredibly clean and the owners seemingly thought of everything to make for a fantastic stay - from board games to kayaks to great coffee, we loved every minute as a family.

Summary: The property was great - very clean and well supplied with almost everything one could want. We really enjoyed the waterfront and especially the kayaks. Loved the outdoor dining as well. It's really best for families - the 3rd bedroom is part of a larger room in the basement and doesn't have its own door. All of our communications, mostly via text, with the owner were good. We would return.

Summary: This vacation rental was top-notch. The views were spectacular inside and out of the lake. It was such a quiet and relaxing location. The hosts were amazing and had everything laid out so that you need not worry about anything on your vacation - it was all handled. Excellent accommodations and excellent hosts.

Summary: We enjoyed our stay at “A little piece of heyden”. It is a good size cottage for a family of 4-6. It is well kept, clean, organized and well equipped with board games, game consoles, books, movies and wifi. As well as outdoor lawn games and water activities. The cottage offered a lot of little extras to get the trip started. Such as, some firewood, coffee pods, some toiletries and a welcome basket. We spent our week fishing off the dock, taking advantage of the offered canoe and kayak, using the many indoor and outdoor games supplied and roasting marshmallows on the fire pit. The water is shallow with a gradual decline but rocky, as stated in the listing, so bring your water shoes! For those who are looking for a sand beach for the kids to play, there are a few to choose from 5-10 min drive from the cottage. our favourite was the beach at Mara provincial park. We would like to visit again soon and would recommend this cottage for your next getaway!
