Nature lovers will delight with the park like grounds, showcase gardens, private sandy beach and panoramic views over lake Rotorua and Mokoia Island. Only 15 minutes from Rotorua City and a raft of attractions - you will be spoilt for choice here.
This lakeside home comfortably sleeps up to 8 adults. The main house has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, with expansive lake views from almost every room. The detached self contained sleepout sleeps an additional 2 adults and also offers incredible lake views. The kitchen and bathroom are modern and well equipped, there's Starlink for fast internet, and commercial grade linens and towels are provided. Kids will love the ping pong table in the garage!
The sprawling grounds offer space to roam and play and the gardens have to be seen to be believed. Nature lined pathways and flowers in bloom offer plenty of places to admire and explore. Wander through the gardens down to the private sandy beach, where you can explore the lake on the kayaks provided or soak in the lake vista.
Located in the beautiful lakeside suburb of Hamurana, Rotorua city is an easy 15 minute drive, Tauranga 30 minutes, Mount Maunganui beach 45 minutes.
The Ngongotaha Village is 5 minutes away, with a range of convenience stores, cafe and small supermarket.
The nearby Waiteti stream is a very popular spot for trout fishing, with people travelling from afar to fish here. The local 'Trout Man' offers affordable trout fishing lessons for those interested to learn too.
Just around the corner is the Hamurana walkway, a pleasant lakeside walking trail which will lead you to the crystal clear Hamurana Spring. There's a lovely walking trail in the trees here which leads to a beautiful fresh water spring.
Here to experience Rotoruas renowned world class mountain bike trails? Skyline MTB park is just 10 minutes away, with gondola assisted uplifts and world class trails of varying terrain for all ability levels. The Whakarewarewa forest is 20 minutes away - with walking and biking trails for people of all abilities. Bike hire is available from here too through Mountain Bike Rotorua. If you are bringing a bike with you it can be safely stored in the lockable garage.
An easy 15 minute drive will you have in the heart of Rotorua City and amongst an array of world famous attractions, including zip-lining, lugeing, white water rafting, thermal hot pools, Maori culture experiences, the Zorb, Hells Gate, Agroventures, tree top walks, Velocity Valley, Wai-Ariki Spa, Waiotapu Thermal Wonderland, and so so much more!

Hamurana is a lakeside suburb of Rotorua. There is a lovely lakeside walkway nearby with BBQs and a playground as well as the popular Hamurana Springs nature walk. Ngongotaha village is just a few minutes away offering a variety of convenience stores. It's a 15 minute drive into the heart of Rotorua City where you'll find an array of attractions as well as the Whakarewarewa forest. Tauranga is 30 minutes away and Mt Maunganui beach is an easy 45 minute drive.
Taxi and Ubers are readily available in Rotorua. There's also a bus service from Ngongotaha into the city.

Summary: This large and beautiful home with a separate space was very clean and has spectacular views of Lake Rotorua. The house is located off a main road - with some noise from large trucks (felt some vibrations to the house unless it was due to small area/geothermal tremors?) The garden of wisdom is absolutely amazing and worth the walk up and down to the lake. We were able to use the kayaks for a small time frame and wish there were beach towels available for use as we had to use our own bath towels to dry off. The Air conditioner unit is located in only the main living room which did not really help to cool down the bedrooms. We could not open any windows or doors during the night due to the seasonal lake flies coming out at dusk as they are attracted to the light. Ceiling fans would have been a major plus. The toilet was separate from the shower which helped with usage, however, the spaces were a bit confined. Overall, the house is a great space and provided wonderful views of the lake.

Summary: Home was clean and has absolutely lovely views. Peaceful, even though it's off a main road - far enough back that there wasn't any road noise. Grounds are lovely. We didn't have time to take advantage of the kayaks. AC is in the main living room only - the bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen area all had windows. Some have screens, some do not. All are too far away from the AC for it to cool them down.We were there on some hot, summer days and we had come directly from our winter in the northern hemisphere, so not adjusted to the heat. It was just too hot for us to sleep well, even with the fans in the bedroom. If the sliding glass door in the main bedroom had a screen, I think we would have slept just fine. But the windows were too small to let in air, and there were warnings about bugs at night, so that wasn't an option. Overall, a great space; lovely grounds; kitchen had what you needed for making a meal (a few spices, but not many); and a quick trip into Rotorua - maybe 10-15 minutes. Would book again if there was AC in the bedrooms or if I was visiting during cooler months.
