Positive: The location was good and Rye, which we have visited many times is lovely.

Negative: There are a few issues with the cottage. 1) The kitchen need updating, one of the kick boards was down, others replaced with cardboard and a cracked door 2) The light on the stairs was too dull 3) carpet runner into main bedroom had bare spikes 4) would suggest a deep clean, sofa grubby and headboard in main bedroom. 5) why is the Wi-Fi code not in the info pack, why is there no visitors book, spent a good 20 minutes trying to get the cooker to work. On other points would say a curtain over both doors would keep heat in for people staying there in the winter, and if there is a budget an internet ready television. The cottage feels a little unloved and think these things would make a big difference.

Positive: Clean, comfortable, well equipped and fab location.

Negative: We weren’t informed about roofing works. Scaffolders arrived early Monday morning waking us up and started assembling scaffolding right outside the bathroom window which doesn’t have a blind. We rigged up a towel over the bathroom door and clothes rack but had to leave the bathroom door open to hold up the towel. They were also working outside the kitchen window which also has no blind. Wouldn’t usually be a problem as property is not overlooked at the back. Felt like an intrusion and we should have been informed about this in advance.

Summary: Fabulous cottage but we should have been informed about roof works in advance.
