Our modern family friendly Farmhouse is truly our home away from home. We've spent our holidays over many years here watching our children grow from toddlers to now being teenagers - so we've got pretty much everything you can think of needing for children!
It has a well equipped kitchen with a large dining table, a range master and large fridge freezer. A utility room is attached with its own separate toilet and lots more equipment - not yet pictured as is a very recent addition.
Off this is a good sized cosy sitting room leading into a dining room which has another dining table and a working fireplace. There's a large TV which has English + French channels and numerous games and toys alongside many books!
The other side of the kitchen (separated by a door, meaning there's good sound proofing) there's 4 downstairs bedrooms and a large family bathroom with a walk in shower and bath (again not currently pictured as still in completion!). The downstairs bedrooms are currently 2 doubles with the other 2 rooms having both a double and single bed in each. The configuration of the bigger rooms is easily adjusted with three singles being able to fit into the bigger bedrooms - we more than understand the need for flexibility with children and sleeping arrangements!!!
Upstairs there is a further twin and double room with another bathroom containing a toilet and walk-in shower.
We've got a large terrace off the kitchen and dining room. It has its own cosy corner of outdoor armchairs with good lighting - perfect for cards and patisserie in the evening!
There's also 2 large garden tables + chairs outside which will easily seat 12 people for some al fresco dining.
In the garden there's ample space to play and let the dogs run in a very large fully fenced field, a good sized pool with plenty of space for inflatables, a trampoline, a football net and ping pong table. There are plenty of sun loungers and cushions. The pool can be heated if requested, is very securely fenced in and is cleaned regularly.
There's an additional patio seating area just outside the pool with comfortable garden furniture and a large sun shade, perfect for the older members of the family and those in need of a break from the sun.
A travel cot, high chair and buggy are available on request.
In terms of location, we're situated pretty equally between the towns of Duras + Eymet which both have weekly markets alongside night markets in the summer months. There are plenty of options for restaurants and cafes in both towns. We've built up a comprehensive list of our favourite spots for everything from the best ice cream shop, to castles with activities for children, kayaking on a local river and many wine tastings. In addition, we're only a 30 minute drive from the beautiful town of Bergerac in the Dordogne (with a very handy airport), 45 minutes from the renowned wine town of St Emillion and an hour on the train from the metropolis of Bordeaux.

Summary: If the property was owned by Ronseal it would use the phrase "Does it exactly what it says on the listing". Easy check in and communication great during our stay for a couple of minor things that came up. Location is brilliant as 15 mins from the brillliant towns of Eymet and Duras and a hypermarket in Pineuilth. Quet location even though a road is close .Pool area is brilliant . Garden and amenities great . All ages stayed from 18 months to 82 years old and we loved every minute even the 8 hour last day storm . We will definitely be back

Summary: Just returned from a wonderful holiday. I cannot fault the communication with Billy, anything I needed to know or have confirmed was delt with immediately and in a friendly yet professional manner. The property was clean and the level of essential items for day to day use and the toys, games and equipment for families was amazing. The pool was a really good size, safe and perfectly warm. All of us slept well, our beds were really comfortable and the layout worked well for my parents to sleep upstairs with their own bathroom enabling them to have space from our noise! The location worked well and was a simple drive from the Bergerac airport. We all loved it so much we intend to book again for next yr. Thanks for providing us a great gite. We are all happy and relaxed! 5*

Summary: We had a fantastic 2 weeks in Billy and Julia’s lovely French home. It is so spacious and comfortable with every creature comfort you need. The garden is huge with plenty of space for children and dogs to play and have fun - there are swings, a trampoline and lots of games and inflatables for the pool. The pool itself is large, lovely, heated and clean, with plenty of sun beds to lounge and enjoy the sun, which we did! The views and surrounding fields are full of vines and sunflowers - a truly beautiful area of France. It is only a short car ride to Eymet or Duras, or even St. Foy Le Grande with shops, cafes and places to eat. This is a large spacious house, with plenty of space for bigger groups and has everything you need. I must also say that Billy is the best owner I’ve ever dealt with in 14 years - so friendly and helpful, and answered any e-mail immediately when we were booking the property - he also kept in touch during our stay. Thank you again for a wonderful stay Billy, and for the use of your fab home. Definitely a place I would recommend, and also would love to go back to!

Summary: We had a wonderful 2 weeks in Billy and Julia's beautiful house. There were 6 adults and 3 children. There was plenty to keep the children and us adults amused, which was great because having 3 little ones - it meant they didn't want to do the same thing all the time and your house had that in mind. The veranda proved popular all throughout the day from our 88 year old Gramps reading books, to the 3 and 4 year olds bug spotting. It was a perfect place to relax at anytime of the day and especially in the evening watching the beautiful sunsets. We made full use of the bbq by using it most evenings as we love to eat al fresco and with a fly swat in hand it wasn't too bad! The pool area was great and when we were lucky to have the beautiful sunshine, it was just bliss. We truly had a relaxing time and can't wait to return next year to make more wonderful memories.

Summary: This was our first family holiday to France. We stayed for a week with friends as the property is easily large enough for bigger groups. We drove down from London and journey was straightforward. Farmhouse very well equipped with a great home from home feel. We ate outside every day but the kitchen has plenty of space to eat in as well. The pool was fantastic - a real draw with the children and a good size. The garden is enormous and with a trampoline and table tennis as well there was lots of opportunities for outdoor play. Good supermarket a short drive away, a lovely bakery for breakfast pastries even closer! Trips out included St Emillion, trips to small vineyards, Eymet, Duras Castle, some night markets - all easily accessible from 15mins - 45 mins away by car. Very relaxed, peaceful setting.

Summary: We stayed at this beautiful house with another family and it suited us perfectly! All the rooms were sizeable and made up well with lovely new linen. The living space was away from bedrooms which worked well when small children woke early and could be whisked off to the living room for early morning TV or the kitchen for breakfast. The pool was clean and more than big enough for our two families to enjoy with more sun loungers than we could possibly use. The views over the local vineyards and sunflower fields are just beautiful and the grounds (which our dog also loved!) go even further than it appears in the photos. The children were delighted by the occasional fly bys from the neighbouring hot air balloon and microlights. The house had everything we needed for our two week stay and was a great place to hang out as well as a base for exploring the local area where there were plenty of lovely towns to see and things to do. Both Eymet and Duras are beautiful spots that are very close by. The nearby Domaine D'Eybro in Soumensac also does some of the best value White and Rosé you will find. We love this region and we would definitely stay here again.

Summary: We stayed at this large farmhouse as had a preference to be slightly away from the main tourist areas of the Dordogne. It was perfect, quiet (particularly at night) and perfectly positioned to visit the immediate area or head up to the Dordogne or Bordeaux. It goes without saying that a car is a necessity. We ate out in both local towns (Duras and Eymet) which provided plenty of options and also were able to shop locally (the weekly markets are excellent) to have some nights in and enjoy the wines that we had procured from nearby vineyards. The dessert wine appellations of Monbazillac and Saussignac which are nearby provide an alternative to the more visited areas eg. St Emillion, but even that is in striking distance for lunch. The farmhouse was clean, spacious and the dining room is well away from the bedrooms with several thick walls between them allowing conversation into the evening while others had gone to bed. The kitchen had everything that was needed to prepare lunches or dinners inside or out. The pool was perfect, safe and heated which was very useful in the cool September week when we visited. There are two local boulangeries that provide fresh bread and croissants, the staple to any French family holiday. The owners were able to make many recommendations (both near and far) which were impossible to get through in just one week.....we will have to return!
