7 Bedroom House in Gilleleje

Beachfront summerhouse in Nakkehoved close to Gilleleje with panoramic views across the Øresund Sea. This beautiful home was designed in the 1930s by an art deco-inspired architect and has recently been modernised, refurbished and extended.
The main house has a huge terrace overlooking the sea with large teak garden table and 10 chairs - plus a second smaller outdoor dining table on the other side of the house.
Maximum 10 guests in total. Flexible sleeping arrangements (there are 10 beds in main house, and 4 beds in guest annexe but we only allow parties of maximum 10 at any one time)
Plenty of outdoor seating including 6 deck chairs and a large swing seat.
There is a very spacious kitchen/family room with big folding glass doors overlooking the sea. The kitchen is very modern with induction hob, twin dishwashers and a Nespresso machine. As well as an LCD TV and music system in the main sitting room, there is a separate playroom with another TV for children, and a piano in the hall. It is centrally heated with underfloor heating throughout. There is a washing machine and tumble dryer in the basement.

The separate guest annexe consists of 2 double bedrooms and a sitting room/kitchen and shower room and also has a deck with 4 chairs and a small table.
There is a very large garden with football pitch, table tennis, gas barbecue.
Use of adult and children's bicycles by arrangement.
Plenty of guest parking.
The property is available to rent by the week (minimum 7 night stay) - the changeover day is Saturday.
The property has been used for company off-site stays as well as holiday rentals.
The local area is beautiful year round with ample opportunity for walking and cycling through the countryside and along the beach cycle paths. You can join the stunning coastal path to Gilleleje right from the house, and we highly recommend the short walk to take in the sunset from Nakkehoved Lighthouse. And all of our guests enjoy just sitting on the large sofas and enjoying the fantastic view of the sea and Sweden which changes from hour to hour. There's also plenty of bird-watching, and we often see kestrels as well as many other birds.
There is a charming path down through the beach roses to the public beach swimming area where you can walk into the water.
We are only an hour's drive from Copenhagen, and are also well located for nearby cultural gems to explore - well worth a visit are Frederiksborg Castle, Kronborg Castle (Hamlet’s Castle), and Fredensborg Castle, the summer residence of Queen Margrethe. Art enthusiasts will enjoy the renowned Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, the Rudolph Tegner Museum in Dronningmølle, and very close by is the charming Munkeruphus, which hosts seasonal art exhibitions and has a sculpture garden with cafe.

Summary: We were a big group of 12 with 6 kids and the space that accommodated us with ease. A big open kitchen that flows into the living areas, as well as watch the kids play in the green areas of the house facing the sea. Anita was always within reach and incredibly helpful. Thank you!!

Summary: We had a good cozy family Christmas/ New Year holiday There was room enough for everyone and a well equipped kitchen The only problem was the heat system that failed But we got help from Jens, friend of Anita’s family, who fixed the problem. The view is amazing from the house and beautiful nature around Gilleleje and Hornbæk are beautiful cozy towns worth visiting

Summary: Our family of 12 people ranging from 2 to 72 stayed for a week at the end of the summer. We had amazing weather and had litterally one of the best vacations of our lives. Anita is very responsive and helpful . The house is perfect and the layout of the main house and the guest cottage were just what we needed. The kitchen is very well equipped. There is plenty of room for kids to play in the yard although there is a slight drop of as the home is slightly elevated from the ocean. The very best things about this house are the beautiful interior design as well as the gorgeous views. We loved sitting outside with a glass of wine and Staring at the ocean. The views of the ocean and Sweden in the distance are panoramic! The regular sailboats in the distance dont hurt either:). The town of Gilleleje is a cycle ride away where the shops and beaches and bakeries and restaurants are so quaint. We would recommend this property to anyone and would love to go back!

Summary: We searched for a high-end functional and fabulous place for 4 kids, 4 parents and 4 grandparents, and we couldn't have found a more wonderful spot than Solkrogen. A truly charming Danish summer home with the most spectacular sea-view and large versatile grounds. Everything oozed modern, practical design and we cooked at home every night (thoroughly enjoying the 2 dishwashers). It's a real home, so we found everything we needed and more - lovely bikes for most of the family, toys, games, garden games, books, beach towels. Our team took turns on the piano and the ping-pong table, the kids roamed up and down between the garden and the football pitch, and they had a movie afternoon when the rain descended. We all had a fabulous time, rain or shine. 4 bedrooms in the house and 2 in the modern annex meant the grandparents could rest undisturbed. And the friendly locals helped us find the best blackberry patches and swimming spots. Easy drive or off-road bike ride to lovely towns, where we sourced copious amounts of delicious fresh and smoked fish. All in all this is a perfectly versatile and delightful property that feels more like a home than a rental property - managed by a very responsive owner. Highly recommended for big families!!

Summary: We had a lovely time staying in this beautiful home by the water. It was the perfect base to relax with family and explore the local area that had a lot to offer for our young family members (age 3 and 5) as well as the older ones - great food, local beaches, castles and Louisiana (as always a highlight). Copenhagen also within reach for a day out (only an hour each way in the car). The owners were very helpful with recommendations for our stay and looked after us during our stay. It truely was a dream holiday in a stunning family home with everything you need to make yourself feel at home. We didn't want to leave! We hope to be back one day!

Summary: In this oasis of peace and nature we enjoyed our holiday in Gilleleje with the whole family. This house was amazing. So light and spacious, beautifully designed and nicely decorate. The kitchen and bathrooms were great. The bedrooms were spacious and perfect. Lots of toys and animation films for the children. Even a swing and a climbing rack in the garden. We also used the annex which was great. Cozy and spacious. The house has a great terrace on which you can enjoy the sea. The view is awesome. There were quite a lot of walking paths around the house, giving you access to the beach and bits of forest and you could even have a very nice walk all the way to Gilleleje! We had a great summer vacation. This house offers every opportunity to relax and unwind in beautiful surroundings. We wish this house was ours!

Summary: This is the most wonderful place to stay. We have looked for a long time to find this exquisite house. Both the house and the annex are great. When entering the house you're immediately greeted with the sweeping views of a modern house and Øresund. The house is very cozy and still modern. It's well equipped with everything you might need. We're looking forward to renting it again next time we're in Denmark. Anita is so nice and gets back to you immediately when you have questions.

Summary: Quiet, incredible views, walk to town through a beautiful seaside path, charming fishing village with good restaurants. The house is clean, well maintained, including the guesthouse. Plenty of fun things to do in the house and on-property to keep small children busy. Just a few steps from the beach. It was perfect for our family reunion. What an incredible place!! I hope we come back someday.
